Chapter Text
Leon jolted awake to his empty motel the moth eaten curtains slightly pulled back letting a beam of light into the room revealing his messy bed with beer bottles littering the floor the TV playing some random weather report and his luggage spread out on the floor.
The first thing that Leon noticed was the pounding headache clouding his thoughts from last night. He could remember things in a blur though most of the specific memories were slipping through his thoughts like water. What day was it again? Leon opened his phone being greeted by the date and time. Leon’s heart dropped to his stomach well, shit.
Stumbling around to find his suitcase he quickly gathered up his uniform and pulled his pants on quickly tucking his shirt and clipping on other necessary gear along with his boots. Grabbing his keys and phone he ran out the door into the sketchy motel parking lot. He hopped into his forest green car and started the car with a turn of the keys.
The drive through the Arklay county was mainly uneventful winding road except for the odd time Leon would start dozing off though he’d startle awake every time he realized he was behind the wheel. He passed a truck with a man absolutely housing a cheeseburger, man he should’ve gotten breakfast though he had bigger issues at the moment.
The gas was getting low so Leon pulled off the road into an empty looking gas station that almost looked closed. Though to his surprise when he went inside to pay a random teenager was staring off into space behind the counter.
“Hey, Can I get a full tank of gas and a bag of Lays?” He said casually.
The guy behind the counter startled then immediately responded in deadpanned tone. “Yes, of course sir that will be $18.59”
Sorting through some cash in his wallet he managed to get a close enough amount and the cashier gave him the cash back.
“Have a splendid day sir.” the cashier spoke as he handed Leon the chips.
“Yup, you too.” He said as he pushed the doors open.
Outside he could see another person had come to the gas station. She had her brown hair back in a ponytail and was wearing a red jacket, along with a gun holstered on her hip. Not paying much mind to her he filled his car with gas wondering if he’d see her again once in the city.
After the gas station the rest of the car ride went by quickly while Leon munched on his chips absentmindedly.
Driving into the city the buildings started to get denser and the area more populated passing by shops and apartments. The sun was slowly coming up into the sky slowly Leon breathed in the brisk air preparing himself to enter the station.
