Barbara would like to think that she knew almost everything that happened in this city.
She probably knew more then everyone by far (everyone except Alfred, no one knew as much as Alfred). She had eyes and ears all over the city and unlimited access to the internet. She was oracle, she had to know what was happening in the city. All that being said, she had absolutely know clue that Jason had a daughter.

Jason knew that he should have told someone that he had a daughter but to be honest he didn't know if he could.
Bruce didn't trust him, he thought that Jason was unstable and a murder. If Bruce found out about his little girl he would take her away. Jason couldn't let that happen so he didn't tell Bruce. He also didn't tell any of the bat's brood. Any one of them would have told Bruce and Jason was scared of what would happen.
Jason couldn't loose her she was everything he had in life. He may not have always had Ellie in his life but she was the center of it as soon as she walked into it. Ellie was already three when Jason took her in. He had always been a part of her life, and he always knew of her existence but he only got custody of her recently.
When he became her sole parent he was scared that he would mess up. That he would take after his parents. He knew that he needed help so he called the only people he could trust. The only people who knew of her existence were his goons and Roy Harper. He figured that Roy had experience in getting a surprise child and should know what to do.
Jason knew that he couldn't always keep Ellie a secret from the bats but he tried his best. He managed to keep her a secret for three years and he was feeling pretty proud of himself. That's why he should have know that something was gonna happen.

"Daddy do you have to go?", Ellie was pulling the back of his jacket while he was lacing up his shoes.
"Yes sweetheart I have to go but I will be back in a few days I promise."
Evidently she did not like that answer if her crossed arms and pout were to be read correctly. He knew she didn't want him to leave. Hell he didn't want to leave either but the outlaws had to take care of something.
Usually he would leave Ellie with Roy so that she could hang out with Lian, but Roy was going too and Lian was with Oliver and Dinah. It's not like he didn't have back up babysitters so he chose to leave her with one of his lutenents. Josie was probably the one of his people he trusted the most with his daughter. She gladly agreed. It was only four days so he figured it would be fine and Ellie liked Josie, she just hated seeing her dad go.
He knelt to be more at her level and spread out his arm. The next second he had a armful of six year old. He wrapped her tight.
"I know baby I don't want to go either but I'm going to be helping people so it'll be worth it ok. I'll tell you what," he started releasing her but still holding her hands, "when I get back we can take some days off and watch movies and I will make you whatever you want to eat ok?"
"Ok daddy", she said reluctantly. "But I get to pick the movies."
He let out a little laugh ,"Of course baby, wouldn't have it any other way."
He looked down at his watch and sighed, "Ok sweetheart its time to go". He reached out for her hand as they headed towards the door "You remember the plan if there is an emergency?" "Yes daddy". They grabbed there bags and waked down the street to Josie's apartment building. When they got there Jason knocked on the door and once again knelt down to hug his daughter, "I love you Eloise" "I love you too daddy, please try to be safe" " I will. Now you be good for Josie ok and remember the plan if something happens." "Ok".
Josie opened the door and Jason let ellie go in. With one look back he headed to his bike. It was gonna be a long four days.

Ellie knew that her dad was gonna come back, he always did but she still couldn't help but worry. He was all the family she had left and he didn't want him to go away like mommy did. He was a good dad. He made her the best foods that he said his grampa taught him. He even lets her help him. He lets her paint his nails and do his hair and makeup if she asked. He also is very protective and gives the best hugs.
She thinks about her daddy alot whe he is gone, but it is not like it's her fault that she misses him. When she is getting ready for bed she grabs her stuffed red hood toy and holds it close to her.
She is woken up sometime later but she can see that it is still dark. Weird. She gets up and goes to find Josie. When she does the can hear her on the phone."What do you mean. What is going on. No I got the boss's kid with me I can't leave. I-- fine she is asleep anyway I will be over there in a minute let me just let me go check on her." Josie sets her phone down but puts it on speaker so she can still hear it as she walks away.
She heads to the guest bedroom but there is a knock on the door. Ellie hides like her dad taught her because she didn't know who knew about the apartment. She is about to sneak back into her room as she hears gunshots. Ellie looks back up in time to see Josie hit the ground and three masked people on the other side of the door.
She goes back through the kitchen to avoid being seen and finds the phone on the table. She sees that Josie was on call with another lutenent and takes the phone with her back to her room.
"Some one just shot Josie", she wispers into the phone. "We think that they are targeting your dad's people, your dad told us that yall have a plan. I know it involves the gang but it's dangerous to be around us right not." The lutenent wispers back. She is glad he said something but now she has to go with plan B and she did not want to do that right now. "My daddy set up back up plans as well but I can't tell you what they are. I will be safe."
Over the phone she heard more gunshots and hung up the phone. She didn't know what was going on but she knew what she had to do, the sun was coming up now which was good. She put her back into her backpack and snuck ou the window. She needed to head to the library.
