“I agree with West. It would be useful if we all acted like adults here.” Prussia cheerfully said.
“Prussia, why are you even here?” Scotland asked, “You’re not even a country anymore.”
“I agree.” Russia blankly said. “You were dissolved.”
“East Germany isn’t around anymore either,” Turkey added.
“Well… t-they just couldn’t get rid of my awesomeness!” Prussia exclaimed, blinking rapidly to keep the tears from his eyes.
“More like annoyingness,” Austria muttered.
“Yeah, all you ever do is annoy us, you shouldn't even be allowed to be here.” England said plainly.
It took everything in Prussia to not flinch at the words. “If you truly believe that I shouldn’t be here. I’ll leave.”
“You should,” Hungary spat, “You’ve only been a nuisance since your land has been destroyed.”
Prussia slowly nodded, stood up, and began to walk away.
“Wait! Prussia, they don’t mean it! You’re awesome and amazing.” Canada yelled, standing up so fast that his chair slid back a bit.
But Prussia didn’t hear him. The white-haired man just kept walking. Soon enough he was out of the room
Canada clenched his fists, and turned towards the others. “Seriously?” He asked, not expecting everyone to stare at him, but when they did he continued. “Do you know what he’s been through?”
“That’s simple, nothing,” Turkey said, “he’s done nothing. He has no responsibilities, paperwork, or people to depend on him.”
“Exactly! He feels useless. He doesn’t have anyone that depends on him!” Canada exclaimed.
“Bro, it sounds like you’re contradicting yourself here.” America pointed out.
Canada balled his hands into fists, “You know what? I’ll leave. You all can talk whatever you want about Prussia, I don’t care.” Canada then stalked out of the room.
***
Prussia hated that he let the words get to him. But they were just making his thoughts become audible.
They were right. I am annoying. I am a nuisance. I should just kill myself. They wouldn’t miss me. Nobody would.
Prussia grabbed his dagger from Fredrick and glared at his reflection.
Albino. Left-handed. White-haired. Immortal even when I should’ve died. Maybe they were right all those centuries ago. Maybe I am a demon.
The German closed his eyes and raised the blade to his neck. It was about three-fourths of the way to his neck when someone’s hand ripped it out of his own. He opened his eyes and saw something startling.
Violet eyes stared at him… angrily
***
Canada stalked out of the room. He needed to find Prussia. Not just so he can tell the German that he was needed and important. The Canadian also needed to punch the idiot in the gut. Prussia ignored him!
Canada checked all of the meeting rooms, then he checked all of the supply closets, and he even checked all of the bathrooms. There was only one place he had left to check, their personal offices. He quickly ran to Prussia’s and slammed the door open, not caring that he broke the lock off of it.
What he saw absolutely stunned him. Prussia’s eyes were closed, tears stained his cheeks, and he was raising a blade to his neck.
Seeing the blade get even closer to the pale skin is what made Canada move again. He crossed the room in seconds, ripped the knife out of Prussia’s hands, and glared at him.
“What do you think you’re doing?” He yelled.
Prussia clearly avoided his eyes as he reached for the dagger, “Finishing off what should’ve happened.”
Canada threw the dagger across the room, making the albino glare at him, “You’re here for a reason! Think! If you weren’t here, who would’ve helped Germany through his depression once the wall fell? Who would’ve caused that prank on the Nordics with Sealand, Seborga, and Wy? Who would wake up every morning and decide that they were going to spite whatever being is up there? Who… Who would be my best friend?”
Prussia's eyes finally met the Canadian’s, “I’m… your best friend?”
Canada nodded, “Of course. You are the one person that’s remembered me. Speaking of remembering me,” Canada punched Prussia in the gut with all of his strength.
Prussia doubled over, clutching his torso, “What was that for?”
“You ignored me. And I yelled.”
Prussia forced a chuckle, “I deserved it I guess.”
Canada nodded, “Now, why do you think that killing yourself was the best option?”
“They don’t want me around. West didn’t even protest against it.”
“I know, but I did. I yelled at them.”
“Did they listen?”
“Listened enough that I got a response.”
“Oh… I’m sorry.”
“I’m not focused on myself right now. What I care about is you. So what they said those things to you? You’re the Awesome Prussia. You care about people without them knowing. You annoy Austria and Hungary, but while they’re yelling at you, you refill their cups of tea or coffee or water or whatever they have. I’ve seen you annoy Romano, but when his back is turned you give him some of your lunch.” The Canadian took a deep breath and looked Prussia in the eyes. “You have the biggest heart. You care so much it’s amazing. You’re needed. You’re cared about. They just don’t want to show it.”
Prussia was in tears half way through the speech. “T-thanks, Canada. But today I’m not feeling very awesome.”
“And that’s okay.” Canada paused before he got an idea, “I think I know what would help.”
“What?”
“Ice cream.”
Prussia blinked, then he threw his head back into laughter, “You’ve got a sweet tooth?”
Canada smiled and stood up, “Of course.” He extended a hand for the other to grab.
Prussia gladly took it and grabbed his dagger, after seeing Canada’s weary expression he gave a small chuckle, “You were right. There are things I can still do. I just need it. And I promise that I won’t try and kill myself with it again.”
“Good, now come on. The ice cream isn’t going to eat itself.”
Prussia smiled, “Those were some awesome words.”
So the two countries left, not caring one bit that people were going to wonder where they were going.
