Chapter Text
Lucifer took a deep breath. He had never been this terrified in his eternal life. Not even when he'd done this with Lilith. Because back then, he'd never been rejected before, or abandoned. Now he had.
But if there was anything the hotel had taught him, it was that you couldn't let fear rule over you. That's not living. To live, you had to take risks, you had to walk straight into the unknown. And it was terrifying. There was no guarantee it would work. But when it did, it was worth it.
He looked at himself in the mirror. “You can do this,” he told himself. “The worst he can do is say no.”
He pulled on his really nice white suit, the one he'd been wearing when he'd first met Al. He slicked back his hair and made sure every strand was in place.
“You can do this,” he said one more time. Then he grabbed the velvet box off his dresser and teleported to their meeting spot.
He'd gotten there before Al, which had been the plan. He wanted to set a couple of things up first.

When Alastor arrived at Ozzie's, Luci was already there and seated at a table. His hands were twitching around. He was nervous.
*perhaps he thinks I won't like Lust* he thought. After all, it was his first time here. Lu glanced up and grinned when he saw the radio demon.
Alastor sat down. “So,” he started. “I guess you're showing me around the rest of Hell now? Since you missed greeting me the time I arrived?” he teased.
That got a laugh out of the king, but his eyes kept flicking around nervously.
Alastor narrowed his eyes, attempting to figure out what was wrong with his boyfriend. He was so focused that he almost jumped when a voice boomed throughout the restaurant.
“Hello, ladies gentlemen and non binary lovers! We have quite the entertainment for you tonight, but first we have a musical number from the King of Hell, Lucifer!” a robot imp thing stood on the stage and made exaggerated movements while he spoke.
Oh, this was why Lu was nervous.
When he snapped out of his shock, he realized that Lucifer was halfway to the stage.
When he got on the stage, his hands were shaking so badly at first that he dropped the mic twice. Then he finally managed to calm himself, inhaled, and started singing.
Alastor had heard Lucifer sing, but never on a stage. Never through a microphone. It was beautiful
*Enemies, that's what we were
The first time I saw you all I felt was hatred
You pissed me off like no one else could
Yet somewhere through the fights
Something else began to grow
Enemies to lovers, that's what we've become
Somehow we found love through the anger
We are opposites but I guess the saying is true
You called my daughter your daughter,
I guess she has two dads, cause I love you
When we were imprisoned
You were right there with me
After we escaped, our fights lessened
Soon they ceased and you asked me out
I accepted and now we're
Enemies to lovers that's what we've become
Somehow we found love through the anger
We are opposites but I guess the sayings true
You called my daughter your daughter,
I guess she has two dads, cause I love you* Lucifer's voice cracked.
*Now you're my boyfriend,
and you still tease me
I want you in my life forever
No matter how scared I am
So tell me, Alastor can we be
Enemies to lover, that's what we've become
Somehow we've found love through the anger
We are opposites but I guess the sayings true
You call my daughter your daughter,
I'd love it if she had to dads, cause I love you*
Lu took something out of his pocket and opened it, then got down on one knee.
*So tell me, Bambi will you marry me?*
