Alive and breathing. In the mechanical sense

Summary:

When life gives you a freedom you had been unknowingly fighting against, you get left stranded in your own metaphorical hell. Connor struggles with trying to feel alive, and where he's meant to belong. Hank struggles with getting used to having another presence in his space, and getting used to the ever growing feeling that Connor means more to him than he originally thought. Markus, North, Josh, and Simon struggle to keep the peace between androids and humans as people slowly return to Detroit and androids try to integrate into every day life. Kara, Luther, and Alice contemplate staying in Canada in hiding, or returning to Detroit, all while trying to understand what it means to be a family. Gavin can't seem to adjust to the circumstances one case puts him in, but slowly he learns how to get over himself and open up to the new face in his life as well as confronting a past he's been constantly running away from.

There is no right way to be human, but that takes time for everyone to learn.

Hello!! This is a short warnings and preface page for my upcoming story!

 

Firstly, please read all tags and warnings!!


To start, this is a multiship fic, multiple relationships are the focus, those are; Markus/North/Simon/Josh, Kara/Luther, and Hank/Connor

 

I am aware that some people may be uncomfortable with Hank/Connor, so if that is the case, please either skips such chapters, or avoid this work all together. I see their dynamic as simply friends and partners in game, I do not see their dynamic as Father/Son. I understand that is a common interpretation, so I urge you that if that is how you view them, to not read their chapters if them being shipped makes you uncomfortable!!


This fic will contain mentions of sexual abuse, assault, and rape, each chapter will be given a warning in the notes if they contain these topics or other sensitive subjects, please make sure to read each note to make sure you are aware of what each chapter entails.


Lastly, this game follows the Peaceful android revolution ending, as well as Connor becoming deviant. If you have not played this route, this fic may be confusing, I suggest watching a playthrough or playing it yourself if you are able.
