Chapter Text
Multi had completely lost his mind.
He had previously experienced various consequences of spending a lot of time underground, in a radioactive reactor, but this time it was the worst of all. And even though he convinced everyone that it didn't affect him in any way, that was a lie.
He heard voices he shouldn't, saw things that didn't actually exist, had terrible headaches that became unbearable, and sometimes fainted.
The scientist tried to combat this with medicine. A lot of medicine. Too much medicine.
Surely those repeated overdoses also negatively affected the whole situation.
But Multi felt that these medicines were the last thing saving him.
Well, maybe there was one more thing that kept him from completely going insane, or rather, one person.
But will this person stay with him even when he see what happens when others are not looking?

Multi is in his office in the reactor, recording important data or changes concerning radiation and the people infected by it.
He has already been working for several hours, and to be honest, he is terribly tired and feels his headaches intensifying again. He curses quietly and takes a break, leaning heavily on his chair, massaging his temples. He closes his eyes, allowing his tired eyelids to fall for a moment.
After a few minutes, he opens them again, pushes the papers aside, deciding to actually rest for a while. He looks at the village in front of him, which is located beyond the glass wall of his office. After Shappo's stay in it, the village is destroyed and has no villagers. The scientist thinks about how he would like to rebuild it when suddenly something catches his attention: in one of the corners of the village, even more hidden in the darkness, stands a black, somewhat blurred figure. It has no eyes or face, just simply entirely black, and its body is unnaturally tall.
The scientist blinks several times, thinking that maybe his eyes are playing tricks on him, but when the figure is still there, he quickly gets up from the chair and decides to check if it is another curious intruder. But how on earth did he not receive any notification from the radars that someone is inside?
As Multi typed the door password to enter the village, he heard a whisper behind him. 'Behind me.' The scientist spun around sharply, scanning the surroundings. The voice was terrifying. There was no one anywhere.
-Who the hell is there?!
Multi shouted, his voice hard and irritated. Finally, he entered the village and searched it, carefully inspecting every corner. No one. Nowhere. Multi left the village terribly pissed off.
-Fucking hallucinations
He growled, deciding to leave the reactor.
Suddenly, he heard more whispers. There were many of them. Some male, some female, overlapping each other so that it was hard to understand anything. Multi felt and heard them everywhere. The scientist snorted and grabbed his head. They wouldn't stop.
-What the hell is happening!?
The scientist shouted, running out of the reactor and teleporting to the Polish Cave. When he arrived there, the whispers stopped. All of them. Multi leaned against the cold stone wall behind him, massaging his temples and breathing heavily and loudly.
-Michał?
He was standing with his eyes closed, trying to calm his breathing, when he heard a familiar voice, and even saying his name, he flinched, opening his eyes abruptly. He turned around, looking at Ewron standing a few steps away from him, who looked like he was hesitating.
-Uhm... is everything okay? Because I'm wondering if you're panting like this because you were just kissing Quackity or if something serious actually happened.
The scientist snorted unpleasantly and rolled his eyes, saying
-Everything is fine.
–Liar.
Ewron said and stepped closer, leaning against the wall next to Multi. They looked at the landscape stretching out before them: the sea, the train station, the church on the hill.
-Do you... do you have pills?
Multi asked in a hoarse voice. His breath had calmed down a bit, maybe also thanks to the presence of the panda next to him, although lately things hadn’t been going well between them.
–Oh, look how the roles have reversed, lately I was begging you for iodine pills and now you’re asking me for medicine
Ewron said with that little smirk of his.
–And what if I ask you now to beg for me too?
Multi snorted.
–Then I’ll ask someone else, you bastard
Suddenly they heard and after a moment saw a new person who had teleported here. It was none other than Quackity. Multi felt a strange sensation in his chest seeing this boy. Quackity, noticing Multi and ewron, smiled widely and approached them.
-Heyyyy my favorite Poles
Ewron greeted him, and bim responded just as enthusiastically, carrying out a short conversation
-Well, I guess the little duck came to talk to the crazy scientist so... I have to go, see you later!
When Ewron had already pushed off the wall to leave, Multi grabbed him firmly by the arm, speaking unpleasantly, in a hoarse voice
-don’t call him that.
Ewron looked at multi for a moment but then smiled, trying to hide his fear with humor, as always
-alright alright sorry great scientist
When Multi decided to let go of the panda, he immediately ran to waystone and teleported somewhere. Quackity stood confused and slightly blushing. He liked it when someone was jealous of him in that way. When Quackity was about to open his mouth to greet because they hadn't even done that, Multi suddenly interrupted the silence by saying coldly. Quackity stiffened at that tone.
-Do you have any pills? Painkillers, preferably something strong.
-No, I don't have any, besides last time I told you to limit them, you're acting literally like a drug addict and that's not good for your health.
-I need them.
Multi said again in that stiff voice. Quackity liked it less and less, something was wrong.
-What happened, Multi?
-Nothing.
-Stop, you can tell such lies to others, not me.
-Oh my god... I just had hallucinations.
-Just hallucinations? Can you hear yourself, Multi? It's even hallucinations, not just. How can I help you, I don't know what such things look like but...
-Just be.
Quackity opened his eyes wide and his mouth was slightly open, he had the impression that the scientist's voice slightly broke when he said it.
-I will, I was and I am, Multi, please remember that.
For a moment they were silent, but after a while Quackity stepped closer, standing in front of Multi so close that their shoes were touching.
-I intend to hug you
Quackity said slowly, knowing that the scientist doesn’t react very well to physical touch. When he didn’t object, Quackity embraced Multi, wrapping his arms around his neck. He had to stand on his tiptoes slightly, causing his body to lean against the scientist’s. At first, Multi did nothing, but after a moment he wrapped his arms around the boy’s waist, resting his head in the hollow of his neck.
-I don’t mind
Multi whispered close to Quackity’s ear. A shiver ran through the duck as he felt his breath on his neck and ear. Dangerously close. But this time it all felt so... comfortable, soft, light.
But Quackity would soon find out that the next such situations would not go so happily and easily...
