Jungwon should have been reviewing his notes.
Instead, he was sitting on a bench outside the humanities building with an overpriced iced coffee in one hand and Twitter open on his phone.
In his defense, he had fifteen minutes before his next lecture. Fifteen minutes wasn't enough time to start studying, but it was enough time to scroll through his timeline and pretend he would start studying as soon as he got inside.
His timeline looked exactly as expected.

Jungwon scrolled absentmindedly, occasionally liking a tweet before moving on. He was halfway through a video of Hyungwon laughing when a familiar username caught his eye.
Sunoo.
Sunoo is one of the very few people Jungwon can call a friend on Twitter. They have been friends for quite some time now. Jungwon has even helped Sunoo get close to his current boyfriend because, although people say that long distance online dating is pointless, Jungwon thinks that Sunoo and Sunghoon's relationship is the biggest argument.
So yeah, Sunoo had replied to someone's tweet.
Normally, Jungwon would've kept scrolling. Sunoo replied to everything and everyone. It wasn't exactly unusual.
The tweet itself, however, made him pause.

Jungwon snorted quietly as he read through the exchange. Sunoo and the other user bounced off each other effortlessly, each reply sounding less like two mutuals interacting on the timeline and more like friends who had been having the same argument for months. Jungwon found himself smiling despite himself. The guy was funny. Maybe a little annoying, judging by Sunoo's responses, but funny enough that Jungwon clicked on his profile to see what his deal was.
The account looked familiar. Not familiar enough that he could remember interacting with it before, but familiar enough that he had probably seen it floating around his timeline.
A quick glance explained why.
Half the people Jay that followed Jay were also his mutuals.
Jungwon clicked out of pure curiosity and immediately found himself twenty tweets deep. Good morning tweets. Song recommendations. Kihyun propaganda. Questionable Changkyun opinions.
The guy tweeted a lot, far more than any normal person should. It didn't look like he was posting for likes and interactions. He would just tweet whatever came on his mind. The interactions just came because every single tweet that Jungwon came across had at least 50 likes, even if it was just a word. If Jay had that blue tick next to his display name, Jungwon would be sure it's a bot.
As he scrolled further down the account, one thing became abundantly clear.
The guy really liked Changki. Now, Jungwon approved — not that it was particularly difficult to earn his approval when it came to his favorite ship.
He skimmed through a few more tweets before deciding he'd probably seen enough. The account was funny, the mutual overlap was mildly concerning, and he could already tell why so many people seemed to like the guy.
His thumb hovered over the screen, ready to click away. But then another tweet caught his eye.
Jungwon paused.
Well, if there was one thing guaranteed to get his attention, it was fanfiction.

There were plenty of good Changki fics out there. If Jay had somehow managed to find a bad one, that sounded like a skill issue.
Jungwon snorted to himself and hit follow. The account had already stolen ten minutes of his break. He might as well commit to seeing the guy on his timeline more often.
With a sigh, Jungwon shoved his phone into his pocket and stood up from the bench. By the time he reached his lecture hall, he had already forgotten about the reply. Unfortunately for him, somebody else hadn't.

Jungwon laughed out loud at the reply before getting another notification:
"jay ☆ followed you"
He smiled at himself for gaining a follower — potentially a friend. He's not very interactive but who knows... If Monsta X and yaoi does indeed bring people together, imagine what Monsta X yaoi could give you.
