Chapter 1: Serve? Strike? Mike-a-Like!!!

Chapter Text

The green Pippins sitting in the Mike Room with a smug expression on their face. They're stroking Pluey, who is lying across a desk. Tenna sitting in the Cold Place, his back against the Christmas tree in the center. He's asking if there's something up with his screen. A Simon Says minigame where you conduct dance rehearsal with Lanino and Elnina.

What's it like to be Mike?

You're a Pippins in TV World. The job's tough and your pay sucks. But the gambling scene's great... as long as your stuffy boss doesn't stick his nose in your business.

One day, you sneak into the mysterious Mike Room for fun... and fall into the hands of a terrible trio of coworkers. Turns out: Mike may not be real, they're all pretending to be him, and they want you to take their shifts while they hunt for the truth!

Will you protect TV World’s right to bet by serving Tenna on hand and foot?

Or will you make his life hell for ruining your friends' fun?

It's all up to you! Just... try not to get fired?

One of two Pippinses complaining about their situation in the Green Room. A scene from one of the intermissions in-game, set in a pixel style. The protagonist has a classic RPG-like encounter with a trio of Pippinses. Tenna running off in his pyjamas in his room.

About Serve? Strike? Mike-A-Like!!!

What is this?

Serve? Strike? Mike-A-Like!!! is a Deltarune fangame made for TV Time! A Tenna Zine — a charity fanbook about  Mr. "Ant" Tenna.

All proceeds from the fanbook will go to the PBS Foundation.

Who made this?

This game was directed, illustrated, written and animated by Mado as a tribute to Deltarune (her favorite game) and Mr. "Ant" Tenna (her favorite character.) Though she's aware that Tenna only exists in the 2D world, she still hopes he'll like her project.

Serve? Strike? Mike-A-Like!!!'s minigames were programmed and refined by Azxiana. Without her patience and expertise in backend coding, this game would not exist.

The game's soundtrack was composed by rootvegetableboy, magic&melodies, RainyWishes, and NarcolepsyDriver. Their clever arrangements bring new life to familiar Deltarune tunes. When you're done with the game, check out the #$@!& $%#* to listen to their work in full!

Can I make fanwork for this?

Yes, please! We'd love to see what you make. Tag it as #mikealike

What's the password for the Mike room? (I didn't fight Mike in Deltarune Chapter 4)

Since you asked... 6453

I can't type anything for the Mike Room password...

The game's not opening on my computer! Help!

Windows:  Extract the game to your Program Files folder on your Windows C drive. Alternatively, change the name of the folder where you extract your Ren'Py games.

Mac: Follow this tutorial.

Linux: If you're using a modern system (above X11), use this script! If not, then follow this tutorial.

Why does the browser version lag/load images weirdly/not play well on my mobile device?

Ren'Py web builds don't perform as smoothly as the downloadable builds. However, you should still be able to get all of the endings in the game.

Mike-a-Like was not designed for mobile devices, and so won't work properly if you try to play it on one.

However, the game's source code and assets are open, so if you're interested in porting the game to mobile devices, feel free! Just be sure to credit everyone involved on the team.

This game is not canon. It's a fan tribute!
We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we've enjoyed making it.
Have fun, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
