if you’re gonna save me, come kiss me and bite me

Summary:

Saps attends a Halloween party. He thinks Flux’s vampire costume looks really good and realistic.

Or, Flux is a vampire and Saps finds out in the best way possible. Oh, and, he’s a real freak.

Notes:

i’ve been seeing a LOT of talk about vampire flux so i couldn’t really stop myself. this was inspired by pia’s (@beakdmac) very very enticing art, which you can find here and here!

not betaread because this is mostly self-indulgent! keep in mind too that this is about the characters and not the real people roleplaying as them. thanks!

enjoy :)

Work Text:

Flux regrets heeding his sister's advice.

Cynikka had told him a few nights ago to look for a human which he could drink blood from. As a young vampire, his diet mostly consisted of the following: iron-rich food, specifically his favorite — which is liver — a few vegetables here and there, and, of course, blood. Most of the time, he can go on for a week feeding only on animal blood, but he usually does that during the weeks where he doesn't need to be physically active or exert himself too much. Of course, human blood is always the way to go. It was the better option, because it keeps him alive — or, well, makes him feel alive.

He didn't really listen to what Cynikka told him. Other than the fact that he avoided outright hunting for humans to prey on them, as he'd rather have those ready-made blood packets instead, Flux believed he knew his body well enough. He wasn't feeling any weaker than usual, meaning he didn't have the need to feed on humans yet. So, before he went out, he chugged his usual bottle of deer's blood that Ender got him after his last hunt, fully convinced that it would be enough to satiate him for the rest of the night.

Only then did he realize that Cynikka had, in fact, been right.

He really should've hunted, or bought a ready-made packet, or took one of their slaves that his father keeps in the dungeon. He should've drunk something better than a deer's blood, something that would stop him from feeling this way in the middle of somewhat a hundred people.

See, the reason why Flux could interact freely with beings that are supposedly his kind's prey was because, most of the time, he can live off of animal blood alone. He had modified his diet to the point where the only time he truly needs human blood is when there is no one (that knows him or is close to him) around the vicinity. This is due to the fact that he grew up having humans as his friends, and he does enjoy their presence, which is also why he is repulsed by the thought of personally hunting a person down just for their blood. Flux taught himself to adjust, to not see them as people who he can make as his victims, and to not have the urge to literally prey on them.

Unfortunately, his modification had proven to be incorrect this time. Because he was in the middle of a party, hosted by his good friend Thomas, and he was feeling far too hungry for his liking.

The smell of pulsing blood was too much. The room he was in should be filled with the scent of alcohol and drinks and sweat, but all that he can focus on was the aroma that's telling him that every person in this room was filled with blood. Fresh, bitter, red human blood, flowing beneath their skin and veins and arteries.

It was nauseating, because the smell of blood was mixing with everyone else's natural pheromones. Flux feels everything in him being filled with bloodlust, and he wants to leave, but he doesn't know if he can because Thomas will ask him why. But if he stays here for much longer, he doesn't know how long his restraint can last, and he would definitely have to prey on someone.

And that someone might just be this guy in front of him.

Saparata, with his drunken eyes and lopsided smile, stood a little too close to Flux, holding a cup filled with god knows what. If vampires could cry, Flux would be doing so out of pure frustration.

"Your costume looks good," Saps commented, half-lidded eyes scanning Flux's costume. He was dressed as a vampire, of course, because why the hell would he bother buying something else when he could just go through Elanuelo's closet and find something from the 1600s? Flux would have the same old, vintage vampire costume in his own closet, but it's been hidden under his more modern ones. Unlike his father, Elanuelo, who still wore the same type of clothing — the whole set: a cravat, corset, and the ridiculously long coat.

Saps, in turn, wore something that resembled a werewolf. He had the ears on, and it looked like he had a mask, too, but it was by his waist. Flux thought that him dressing up as an animal really did not help his hunger right now, especially since he and his family often hunted werewolfs whenever they went on hunting trips.

"Thanks," Flux managed to say, looking away from Saps and thinking of something he can do to get out of this situation.

"Your fangs look real nice."

"Thanks," he repeated.

"You think they'd hurt?"

"Huh?"

Flux blinked at him. What was he saying? Saps looked like an idiot, as usual, because his smile widened while he stepped closer to Flux, completely unaware of the effect he was having. The smell of blood only grew stronger.

"If you used it to bite me." He tilted his head, showing his bare neck. Flux could feel his fangs. "Wanna try?"

He didn't know if Saparata was joking, but he was sure this was the influence of alcohol. Flux turned away again, all desperate to leave this place because it was getting even more unbearable and Saps wasn't making things any easier.

"You don't wanna?"

Flux could quite literally see and feel Saps' pulse by the way he's showing himself. Now that he's almost pushed past his limit, his senses are near its peak, and he's drowning in the aroma of blood. He could smell nothing of the alcohol.

The more that Saparata talked, the more Flux felt dizzy and the more he started seeing red. It was all too much for a vampire like him who never felt hunger, because he was always provided with blood by his family. Every dead vein in his body felt like it was pulsating, and if he had a heart, it would've been beating all too loud in his ears as he tries real hard to not grab Saparata by the neck. Flux really really wanted to leave.

Flux thinks about turning into a bat, maybe Saps would forget about it the next day because he's literally drunk as fuck, but he might not have the strength to even fly far out considering that he's closer and closer to passing out the more he denies preying on someone right now.

Despite the dizziness, he could hear Saps ask, "Why don't you want to?" His voice sounded blurry. He didn't know if it was because he couldn't think straight anymore or if it was because Saps was clearly out of it.

"I don't think they'd hurt," Saparata continued. Flux couldn't see properly but he knew Saps was stepping closer. Every beat of his pulse, he could vividly hear now.

"Those are fake anyway.." Saps had said, and before Flux could react, his fingers were already on his fangs, touching them and feeling that they weren't the same kind as those that you simply put on.

"Oh."

All drunken amusement vanished from his face, eyes widening more than he thought it could be able to. Flux too, was speechless.

"You're a—"

Before he could even finish, Flux had already pulled him away, hand gripping too tight on his arm. Flux had reached his limit, he can't do this anymore, and he can't really afford to let everyone know that he was a real vampire. He opened the nearest door.

Saps felt the wall hit his back too hard and he also felt Flux's grip move from his arm up to his neck. The room was dimly lit, not enough light to actually illuminate the two of them, but it was undeniable that he could see how Flux's supposed to be purple eyes turn into red, menacing ones.

"Wow," he said, with a breath. "This is so hot."

"Shut up."

"You're a real vampire," Saps tries talking, although his voice is strained because Flux's hands were still on his neck. It doesn't come off as a surprise that his friend was a vampire, he always had that aura to him. Plus, he was pale as fuck, and his family was weird.

Saps could hear Flux's breathing growing even heavier and his breath lingered along the skin of his collarbone. He should ask him later why he breathes if he's dead.

"Are you gonna bite me?" he says again, when Flux doesn't speak. He looks straight into Flux's eyes and all he could see was hunger. Sick, he thinks. He's totally gonna bite me.

"No."

"Hell ye—wait, what?"

"I'm not going to bite you."

"But you look so hungry!"

"I can manage," Flux says, removing his hands from Saps' neck. He knows its a lie. He could feel Flux somehow growing a little weaker, and he's read before that vampires become weak when they don't get enough blood.

Flux tries to step away, but Saps holds the back of his neck and pulls him closer, slowly tilting his own head. "Bite me."

It was Flux's turn to widen his eyes. "What?"

"It's okay," he moves closer, looking straight into the vampire's eyes. There was a small smirk on his face. Flux thinks he's enjoying this more than he should be. "I've always wondered what a vampire's bite feels like…"

For the nth time, Flux could only swallow. The dizzines and nauseating feeling from before had only heightened the moment he decided to be alone with Saps. He knows he couldn't take it any longer, knows that if he denies more of this, he could possibly harm Saparata even more. He closed his eyes.

"It's going to hurt," he says.

"Good."

Freak, Flux wanted to say. But he couldn't anymore, because he already dove for Saps' neck, burying his fangs on the crook of it, digging two small holes on his skin. He could feel Saparata stiffen under him, his hand immediately flying up to grip Flux's hair.

Once the wound was enough, only then did he start drinking from him. Flux feels the relief wash over him as he alleviates his hunger with Saparata's blood. He thinks he heard a quiet sigh from Saps, he's not really sure, because he was too focused on how he tastes — fresh, bitter, but also sweet, and it's good. Too good.

The moonlight shone from the room's small window. Saps thinks this might be heaven.

"Darling..."

Flux looks over to Saps with a questioning look. He's been doing this ever since they sat down — he would call him using different pet names, and when Flux asks why, he doesn't answer.

Saps moves a little closer to his boyfriend, wrapping his arm around him. "My love…"

He buries his face on Flux's neck. The vampire wasn't paying attention to him anymore, too immersed in whatever TV show he was watching.

"Baby.." he called again, sitting upright so he's facing Flux, feeling his hand hold Saps' waist in an attempt to steady him from his abrupt movement. Flux only looks at him.

"Do you want to eat?" he finally asks, with a grin that Flux knows all too well.

Flux smiles back. "Will you cook?"

"No."

"Then what?"

All of Flux's attention was now on Saparata. He notices the playful look on his eyes, and he knows that he wants something from him.

"Are you hungry?" Saps asks again.

"I'll eat whatever you cook for me."

"I'm not cooking…"

"Why are you asking me if I'm hungry?"

The question only earned him a small giggle and a soft, "Well…" before he felt Saparata shifting, moving to sit closer and positioning himself on Flux's lap. Saps placed a small kiss on his nose, before his eyes looked straight into Flux's, all determined in asking, "Don't you want to bite me, my darling, vampire husband?"

Flux stared at him back.

To others, Saps would look utterly delirious. He had that same smirk on his face, all smug and teasing, and his eyes were very much too enticing. The way he looked at Flux held every emotion he knew of Saps when they first started this — enjoyment, want, need. He might just be insane.

He furrowed his brows. The thing is, as much as possible, Flux avoids giving in to his boyfriend's needs, because he knew how much his bites hurt. It was just that Saps is too much of an oddball to convince that it was bad for him to always be bitten. He'd always tease Flux, especially when he sees him drinking his usual deer blood, saying that he bets he would satiate him better than whatever animal out there.

"No," Flux answers.

"Why not?"

"I don't want to hurt you."

"But it doesn't hurt," he whispers. He places another kiss on Flux's cheek. "It feels good, actually."

"Freak."

"Yeah, that's right," he kisses the other cheek and moves to Flux's ear, where he softly asks, "Bite me?"

With a sigh, Flux slowly pulls his boyfriend away. "No."

"Come oooonn," he whines, and Flux thinks he should consult Elanuelo and ask if he knows witches that could make potions which alleviate this weird need to get bitten. "Just once?"

"I've had enough blood today."

He hears Saps click his tongue. "I'm sure those animal blood don't compare to mine."

It took a few seconds before Flux could reply, because it was true. Animal blood could never compare to those of a human's, especially Saparata's, considering that he was someone who followed a strict dietary regimen and went to the gym often. Flux had read on an online blog for vampires that humans who had a low-carbohydrate diet generally tasted better, which was proven true during Thomas' Halloween party, because Flux swears that he'd never tasted blood that good in all his hundred years of existence.

Flux looked away. "I'm still not biting you."

"Even if I say please?"

"Saps."

"Please, baby?" He lowered his head to plant a kiss on Flux's cold lips. "Your diet requires human blood, right?" He asks before he gives kiss down his jawline. "I'm here to provide you that."

Saps' lips were already peppering kisses on Flux's neck, where he felt the movement of his throat as he swallowed, refusing to answer. "Please?"

The look on his eyes tells Flux that him not giving in would torment him even more. Saps could definitely go out of his way and hide every stash of blood that Flux keeps just so he would bite into him. What the fuck did he get himself into?

"…Fine."

Saparata almost fell off of his lap as he jumped up, yelling, "Yippee!" before giving Flux a kiss on the lips.

Every time Flux sinks his teeth in his skin, Saps thinks it feels better than the last time he did. His hands are on Flux's shoulders as he bites down, eliciting an exhale from his mouth. He does admit that the feeling is painful, but it's addicting in some sort of way that he starts to crave for it, for the pain of Flux's fangs and the sensation of having his blood sucked away from him.

Flux lifts his head a bit to look at Saps. His lips were stained with blood. "You good, love?"

"Yeah," Saps answers with a smile. He pushes Flux back down. "Keep going."

Saparata doesn't exactly know how his blood tastes like. He always thinks about it whenever Flux starts drinking from him, but what he's sure about is that it probably tasted good, given how the vampire always looked all intoxicated and satisfied whenever they were done. He should try kissing him after this to get a taste of his own.

Flux's lips feel cold on his skin but its touches feel warm. Everything about this is weirdly agonizing, but beautiful nonetheless, when he thinks about his blood running inside Flux, how it saves him, keeps him alive.

He wonders how he'd get over the enthrallment, before he decides he'd rather not, because he knows that he'd constantly want it, for feeling Flux's teeth on him would always be better than anything else in the world. And knowing that he satiates Flux in ways that nothing else ever could, knowing that nothing can help his lover like this other than him, that nobody does it better than him, he would always, always, with no hesitation at all, offer himself to Flux.

All of him, blood and skin, for him to drink and eat and feast upon. Let himself be swallowed by his lover, and have himself run and flow through his veins. For his blood is rightfully his, as his heart beats to the rhythm of Flux's name.
