Chapter 1: Lost

Chapter Text

It was 2:00am in Korea, you had no idea how to get back to the hotel since your phone died, and you were coved in alcohol after some guy at the bar spilt his drink on you.

This was certainly one way to start your vacation to get away from the stress at home. After university you thought that life would be easy, you had a picture perfect life in the states: job lined up right after graduation, supportive parents, great friends, and an incredible sense of hope for the future. Hope, that was immediately crushed by your god awful boss refusing to hear you out on any new projects or ideas.

And when someone is stressed in their mid twenties, they usually book a trip to Japan. But, you don't speak Japanese, you speak Korean, so a trip to Korea it was!

Now, you were lost, all because you could not remember the name of the stupid hotel you had booked.

Walking aimlessly down the streets of Seoul, your mind wandered. Spurred by stress and a little too much alcohol, about how much you envied the idols that lit up giant screen around the city. You had been a dance in high school and contained to pursue it in university, but had stopped once you graduated. You were okay at singing too, but you really loved producing. Over the last 5 years you had been learning the ins and outs of music production. You always carried a flash drive of some songs you and your friends had done vocals for. They certainly weren't masterpieces, in fact, most of them had been recorded when you were all wasted, but they were solid nonetheless.

Deep down, part of you knew that the reason that you had come to Korea was to get some inspiration. You wanted to start writing and producing some songs in Korean too, not just English. Maybe one day you could teach your American friends Korean and you could all record and-

"Oh shit! Oh my god, I am so sorry!"

Damit, damit! You were so lost in your own thoughts that you forgot that even at 2:00am, there were other people walking the streets.

A man in black beanie looked up at you from the ground. His blonde hair peeking out from underneath his hat. He had a black mask obscuring his face, but his eyes revealed that there was a kind smile underneath the mask.

"Hey its alright! Don't worry about it, I'm fine."

He pulled himself off the ground, and you finally got a look at his frame. Taller than you, with muscles seemingly suffocated around a tight black shirt. His jeans and shoes completed the fit, rounding off his all black look. He looked down to meet your eyes.

"Are you okay though? You are covered in... water?"

He looked up and around to see if maybe there was a rain he missed earlier. You tried to give him a small smile before realizing how red your cheeks were getting from him just looking at you.

"No, no, its alcohol. Someone spilled their drink on me at the bar, and I was just lost in thought trying to get home, sorry."

"Do you know where your going?"

"Oh, uh, I think so?"

You could feel your cheeks heat up again, and you silently prayed that he would just think it was from the alcohol. He shot you a look like he could see right through you before opening his mouth again.

"Here, lets get you a change of clothes and then I can drive you back to your place. If that okay with you."

You swore you saw him blush a bit, but not wanting to push your luck by coming onto some stranger, you gratefully accepted his offer. And now, you were making way to a strangers apartment.
