Work Text:
Seonghwa stood in the kitchen, chopping pork for samgyeopsal when Wooyoung shuffled in. “Hey baby kitten.” Seonghwa said warmly, “how was your doctor's appointment?” Wooyoung placed a note in front of Seonghwa, his face unusually grave. With increasing concern, Seonghwa read the note. The note read: please excuse Wooyoung from doing chores and school, he twisted his liver and is unable to read or write, or bathe. Yours Truly, The Doctor.
Seonghwa looked at Wooyoung. Then back to the note. Then back to Wooyoung. He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. “Do you even know where the liver is located?” he asked. Wooyoung pointed at his shoulder. Seonghwa looked up in despair and prayed for patience. “How,” he said slowly, “exactly does a liver get twisted?”
“Because, sometimes the liver gets confused and starts twisting itself!!” Wooyoung explained. Seonghwa squinted. “And if I were to call Doctor Choi, would he say the same thing?” He asked, reaching towards his phone.
Wooyoung flailed towards the phone, reaching it before Seonghwa and dragging it towards himself. “Yes, yes, yes,” he babbled, “Dr. Choi would absolutely say the exact same thing, no need to call him!”
Seonghwa hummed, examining the note closely. “It says that you cannot write. But the handwriting looks exactly like yours. “ Wooyoung's mouth opened and closed like a fish a few times. “Doctor Choi grabbed my hand and wrote the note that way!” Wooyoung explained quickly.
Seonghwa squinted at the note. “Why is the signature just the doctor?” Wooyoung beamed. “He forgot his name while he was writing it. He figured you'd know who he meant!” Wooyoung nodded like that made all the sense in the world.
Then Seonghwa pointed at something. “Why is there a heart over the ‘t’ in doctor?” he asked suspiciously. Wooyoung threw his hands up in the air. “Can’t a man have a little whimsy in his life as a treat?” Wooyooung asked, exasperated.
“Okay.” Seonghwa said, nodding. A relieved look crossed Wooyoung's face. “Okay?” He questioned, beginning to back away.
“Yeah.” Seonghwa said. “But your note said that you cannot write. So I'll be writing your notes while you dictate to me.” Wooyoung's jaw dropped. “You can't do that!” He said .
Seonghwa ignored him, saying, “And since you can't read, I'll have to take away your social media. No TikTok, no Instagram. All of your social medias deleted since you can't read anything.“ Wooyoung whimpered.
Then Seonghwa continued, “Your note also says you can't bathe. I guess I'll just have to personally help you bathe.” A horrified look crossed Wooyoung's face. It was reported that his horrified screams could be heard within a 5 mile radius.
“Oh would you look at that?” Wooyoung frantically exclaimed, scrambling towards his room. “I'm miraculously healed! The miracles of modern medicine!”
“You're on bathroom duty tonight.” Seonghwa called after Wooyoung as he fled towards his room. Seonghwa went back to his samgyeopsal, shaking his head. At least that was the most entertaining thing to happen to him all day. He just hoped he could finish his evening with peace and quiet.
