Work Text:

Abolish was on the job. The rhythmic thumps of his steps echoed around the deserted corridor. As his target rounded a corner, Abolish jumped onto the wall and launched himself in front of the man, trapping him. A moment passed as the figure in front of him seemed to consider his non-existent options. Running back the way they had came was impossible, Abolish's associates would be waiting for him. And as for Abolish, well, he knew the man wouldn't try fighting him. Abolish's reputation as the sharpest agent in the city had earned him that much.

A man who still had mercy in his heart would have let him live, or at least given him time to say some final words. A chance to say his name for the last time. A sonnet, maybe. Something to give this man a little decency.

Pity that Abolish was not that man.

By the time the man realised he wouldn't be making it out alive, Abolish had pulled out his gun and pointed it at his head. His finger tightened on the trigger, but before he could end this man's life, a noise pierced the silence. It was a text alert, too bright and cheery for the tense moment. As Abolish begrudgingly took his phone out of his pocket, the man opened his mouth. His mistake. He was dead on the floor before he realised what he was about to say.

The noise of Abolish tapping out letters on his phone seemed wildly out of place in the abandoned hallway. Stepping over the nameless body, he replied to Scott's stupid GIF of a cartoon cat waving.

Abolish: what do you want

Scott: not even a hello for your favourite person??

Abolish: bold of you to assume i tolerate you.
also that gif doesnt deserve a hello

Scott: rude

Abolish: did you just send that to annoy me
or do you actually want something

Scott: what if i just wanted to say hello?

Abolish: good job you did it

Scott: yr so mean to me for no reason
okay fine
i need help

Turns out all he wanted was suggestions to get revenge on his ex. Which sat totally well and fine with him that Scott had been dating someone. Why wouldn't it?

After a quick discussion and a few "I know a guy"s, Scott left him alone. But not after sending a few THOUSAND kissy emojis. (Who does that??????) Anyway, by the time they'd finished their conversation, Abolish had left the building and was walking home.

Next time Abolish went on a mission, he was turning on 'Do Not Disturb'.

Once he got home, he turned the kettle on and collapsed onto the couch. It had been a long day.
