Work Text:

It was two in the morning. Fourth woke up, blinking in the darkness. He wasn't having nightmares, nor contractions, but he felt a huge emptiness in his stomach that demanded a specific combination: cucumber, dressing, and spicy sauce.

He looked at Gemini, his alpha, who was sleeping peacefully. He had one arm wrapped around Fourth’s waist, unconsciously protecting his swollen omega tummy. He looked so relaxed, so perfectly well—rested, that a sudden wave of irrational anger washed over Fourth.

«How can he sleep like that while I feel like I'm starving to death?», he thought.

Fourth nudged him gently by the shoulder.
“Gem... wake up.”

Gemini didn't even flinch; he only let out a low rumble and pulled his omega closer.

Seeing that he didn't wake up instantly fueled his anger. The pregnancy hormones did their thing, and in a matter of a second, Fourth’s eyes flooded with tears of frustration. He pushed Gemini harder, this time actually moving him.

“Gemini, wake up!” He exclaimed. “You're sleeping like a log and our pup wants to eat!”

At the sound of his omega crying, Gemini’s alpha instinct kicked in instantly. He sat up in bed with a start, completely disoriented, his hair rumpled and his eyes half—closed, looking everywhere for a non—existent danger.

“What? What happened? The baby? Does something hurt?” He asked frantically, touching Fourth’s stomach.

“Your son is hungry, Gemini. I want a cucumber salad with dressing and spicy sauce. Now. And if you don't bring it to me, it means you don't love us anymore and you don't care if we starve.”

Gemini was absolutely prepared for Fourth’s cravings.

“No, no, my love, of course I love you. Don't ever say that.” Gemini said, reacting quickly.

With his mind still a bit clouded by sleep, he grabbed his phone from the nightstand. He opened the app for the 24—hour store he always turned to for his omega’s late—night emergencies.
While placing the express order for home delivery —because going out meant leaving Fourth alone and crying— Gemini pulled close to soothe him.

“I ordered a double portion and lots of dressing.” He told him in a soft voice, wrapping his arms around Fourth’s shoulders and pulling him to his chest. He began to gently release pheromones, seeking to envelop the omega to calm him down. “You're the best daddy in the world and the pup is going to be born strong because you take such good care of him.”

Fourth let himself be held, the scent of coffee and honey from his alpha calming him down a bit.

“I am?” Fourth sniffled.

“Yes, my love, you are the most adorable and wonderful daddy.” Gemini stroked his back affectionately.

About ten minutes later, the doorbell rang. Gemini shot up like lightning, practically flew down the stairs, paid the delivery guy, and headed to the kitchen at the speed of light to put everything in Fourth’s favorite bowl, a Snoopy one.

When he returned to the bedroom with the bowl in his hands, he found Fourth pouting.

“You took an eternity!” Fourth sobbed, wiping his tears with the sleeve of his pajamas. “I thought you had forgotten about us...”

“I’m sorry, my life, I’m sorry. It’s here, look.” Gemini sat down quickly on the edge of the bed and handed him the bowl with a gentle smile.

Fourth received the dish, grabbed the fork, and took the first bite.

The change was immediate. As if a magic switch had been flipped, the crying stopped completely. A sigh of happiness escaped his lips; Fourth chewed with his eyes closed, savoring the glorious food.

“It’s delicious...” Fourth murmured, already in a completely different mood, looking at Gemini with his shining eyes. “You're the best husband in the world, Gem. I love you.”

Gemini let out a relieved chuckle, running a hand through his own hair and exhaling the breath he didn't know he was holding. He leaned in to kiss his omega’s forehead.

“I love you both too. Enjoy, my love.”

While Fourth happily devoured his late—night salad, Gemini lay down beside him and rested his head on his husband's shoulder, smiling.

“I love you so much, Gem.” Fourth murmured, causing Gemini’s pheromones to intensify, filling the room with a warm, sweet, and deeply comforting scent.

Fourth was standing in front of the full—length mirror in the dressing room, fighting a losing battle. He had put on one of his favorite shirts: a pastel green baby tee with dark green stripes.
The fabric stopped right in the middle of his swollen tummy, leaving the rest of his skin exposed. The garment, which used to make him look slender, now framed his pregnant belly in a very obvious way. Fourth stared at his reflection and frustration washed over him; his lips trembled, his eyes filled with tears, and he began to sob silently.

At that moment, Gemini walked out of the bathroom upon hearing the first sniffle and found his omega in front of the mirror.

To the alpha’s eyes, Fourth couldn't look more adorable. With his cheeks slightly flushed from crying, a pout, a furrowed brow, and that tiny shirt that emphasized his beautiful belly, he looked like an adorable, fluffy, and... very, very edible mochi. An involuntary smile settled on Gemini's face.

Grave mistake.

Fourth caught the movement in the mirror and turned his head with lightning speed, tears rolling down his cheeks.

“What are you laughing at?” Fourth asked with a trembling voice, but an annoyed tone. “I’m round, very round. I look like a ball! Are you still going to love me when I roll around the house?”

Gemini felt his heart skip a beat. The combination of Fourth’s indignation with his incredibly cute appearance was too much for him. Trying to fix it, he walked toward his omega while starting to release calming pheromones, a scent of coffee and honey flooding the room to envelop his partner. He stood behind him, carefully circling Fourth’s waist and pressing his chest against the omega’s back.

“I’m going to love you more every day, no matter how much our family grows.” Gemini told him in a soft voice, kissing his temple. “Don't worry, my love, from now on I’ll buy you only clothes a few sizes bigger so you can be comfortable.”

Far from calming down, Fourth’s mind processed his alpha’s words in the worst possible way. He turned around in his arms, pushing his chest with a weak, indignant shove.

“So I am like a ball?!” Fourth exclaimed. “Do I look like a balloon? Are you going to dress me in potato sacks?! Sure, since you don't have to carry a mini—you inside here that crushes your ribs! You don't love me anymore, Gemini!”

Tears welled up fiercely again, and Fourth tried to pull away, but Gemini didn't let him go.

Gemini wasn't even listening. Seeing Fourth so expressive, so demanding, with those plump lips that wouldn't stop complaining and his scent that became spicier and more magnetic when he got angry, ignited something deep inside the alpha. The instinct of possession and desire mixed in his chest; Fourth awoke something in him that drove him crazy, a ravenous need to devour him, to trace every inch of that body he knew by heart.

Without a second thought, Gemini silenced Fourth’s complaints by sealing his lips with a hungry kiss.

Fourth let out a gasp of surprise against the alpha’s mouth, but immediately his hands gripped Gemini’s shoulders. Gemini devoured his lips with urgency, tasting him as if he were the most exquisite delicacy in the world.

When Gemini finally pulled away, just enough for both of them to breathe, a fine thread of saliva still connected them.

Fourth’s cheeks were hot, his lips brilliantly red, and his eyes half—closed, completely unfocused by the intensity of the kiss. The indignation and crying from a moment ago had evaporated.

Gemini brought his kisses down Fourth’s jawline until reaching his neck, right where his scent gland was located, leaving a wet kiss there, making him shiver slightly.

“I can show you how much I love you...” Gemini murmured against his skin, his deep voice sending a shiver straight to Fourth’s core. “Right here, right now. And every single time you let me remind you.”

Fourth let out a sigh, his head falling back, fully exposing his neck. His hands moved up and tangled in Gemini’s dark hair, seeking support as the alpha continued his devoted descent of kisses. Each of Gemini's kisses was one of adoration, a physical response to all the absurd insecurities that hormones tried to plant in his head.

“You're beautiful, Fourth. My beautiful omega.” Gemini whispered, looking up to lock his brown eyes with his husband's. “You drive me crazy. Just like this, all round, carrying our pup; you're the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Fourth pouted slightly as a pink blush spread all the way to his ears.

“I really don't look like a ball?” He asked in a whisper, seeking one last confirmation.

Gemini laughed softly.

“No, my love. In fact... if it were up to me, you’d walk around with no clothes at all to bother you.”

“Gemini!” Fourth exclaimed, giving him a playful swat on the shoulder, though his scent of cinnamon and sweet milk intensified, betraying how much he liked the idea. “It’s too cold to walk around naked.”

“Well, then you can wear my clothes, well, you wear them anyway.” The alpha said, smiling, and then kissed the tip of his omega’s nose.

“I just missed my own clothes.” Fourth commented, but a bright smile finally appeared on his face, dispelling any trace of sadness.

“Just hold on a little longer; you’ll wear them again soon.” He reminded him.

The clock marked nine in the evening, and the atmosphere in the living room was the epitome of comfort.

Fourth was lying with his legs stretched over Gemini’s lap; the alpha, for his part, was massaging his swollen ankles.

On the TV screen, a diaper commercial played. A mom, with impeccably styled hair and not a single dark circle under her eyes, cradled a smiling baby while an overly enthusiastic voice talked about the blessings of having children and the tender process of the sweet expectation.

Fourth looked at the screen, then looked down at his own belly —which at that moment decided it was a good idea to stretch the fabric of his gray pajamas— and finally fixed his eyes on Gemini.

The alpha maintained an adorably serious expression, concentrated on not pressing too hard on his husband’s ankle, totally oblivious to the hormonal storm brewing right beside him.

Without warning, Fourth lunged forward with a surprising agility for his state and planted a small but firm bite on his alpha’s shoulder.

“Aow! Fourth! What was that for?” Gemini complained, letting out a chuckle. Although it didn't hurt at all, the surprise attack caught him off guard.

Fourth pulled back, crossing his arms over his belly.

“It’s because this is all your fault.” Fourth said.

“My fault?” Gemini raised an eyebrow, stopping the massage to look at him with amusement.

“Yes!” Fourth exclaimed, nodding his head so hard that his dark locks covered his forehead.

“Mmm...” Gemini pondered, adopting an analytical pose that only managed to exasperate his partner even more.

“It is! You got me pregnant. Look at me!” Fourth huffed, letting his back fall against the cushion. “I can’t sleep on my stomach, my feet hurt, my clothes don't fit me anymore, and you keep looking so damn pretty, hot, and well—rested. All the responsibility is yours!”

In Gemini’s mind, like a movie theater screen, the exact night everything happened began to replay. He remembered the room flooded with their scents, the sheets a total mess, and Fourth, with flushed cheeks and eyes clouded by heat, literally begging him to slick inside him all night long. He remembered his hands gripping his shoulders and his lips murmuring between groans that «he wanted his alpha's baby, he wanted it so much».

In reality, he was always that intense when he set his mind to it. The only difference was that they simply decided to stop using contraceptives. Gemini was sure that, if it weren't for that, they would already have a couple of kids in the house because his omega was insatiable when it came to claiming him.

Aware that revealing this memory right now was equivalent to signing his death warrant, Gemini swallowed the urge to remind him that he had only followed his orders very... obediently.

Gemini held out his hands in surrender.

“Alright, I’m sorry. You're right, my love.” Gemini said in a soothing voice. “It’s all my fault for having no self—control around you. I promise I won't do it again.”

Fourth froze in place. His eyes widened completely, turning from superficial indignation to a genuine, real fury. The omega’s scent became dense and spicy in an instant.

“What...?” Fourth’s voice trembled with rage, and Gemini felt that real danger had just walked through the door. “What do you mean you won't do it again?”

“My life, I mean that...”

“So you don't desire me anymore?” Fourth interrupted him, sitting up completely and pointing an accusing finger at him. “You don't want to have any more pups with me? Do I disgust you now that I’m round like a balloon? Are you rejecting me, Gemini?!”

Tears, the faithful companions of Fourth’s tantrums, threatened to spill immediately as he looked at his alpha as if he had just suggested they move to different planets.

Gemini couldn't help it; a huge smile settled on his face as he held back a laugh. He ran a hand through his hair, completely aware of the dead end he had backed himself into.
If he said yes, it would be bad because it confirmed he didn't desire him; if he said no, it would be worse because it meant he planned to get him pregnant again and let him feel like he was carrying a watermelon under his clothes while he would be cool as a cucumber.

“No, no, hold on right there! My love, you processed the information backward.” Gemini reacted, closing the distance on the sofa before the first tear could roll down Fourth’s cheek.

“I didn't process it backward!” Fourth complained, wanting to put up a barrier with his hands, but his fingers instinctively gripped Gemini’s shirt the moment he was close. “You said you won't do it again. You said it! That means you're not going to touch me anymore, that you don't like me anymore, that...”

“It means I’m a fool who doesn't know how to express himself when he has the most beautiful omega in the world calling him out.” Gemini interrupted him in a soft voice, catching Fourth’s hands in his own to kiss them one by one.

Gemini’s scent changed drastically. He put amusement aside and began to release his pheromones with a warm and protective intensity, seeking to flood Fourth’s senses to appease the rejection alarm that his hormones had erroneously triggered.

“Listen to me carefully, my life.” Gemini continued. “You drive me crazy; yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. If it were up to me, I’d fill the house with pups for you, but I don't want to see you suffer with sore feet or exhaustion. That’s what I meant, my heaven. I just want to take care of you.”

Gemini’s scent was doing its job, sweetening the tension in Fourth’s chest, but his pride, now as a pregnant omega, still demanded a little more submission.

“So you do desire me?” He asked in a whisper, which completely melted Gemini’s heart.

“Fourth, I’ve been holding back for months from devouring you every time you walk around the house wearing only my clothes. It’s hard for me to have self—control because you look so damn delicious that I’m afraid of losing my mind and not letting you out of bed.”

The blush on Fourth’s cheeks was instant. His cinnamon scent lost the spicy touch of fury and returned to a sweet and comforting one that betrayed how pleased he was.

“You're an exaggerator...” Fourth murmured, though a small smile began to peak on his face. His hands looped around his husband’s neck.

“I’m not an exaggerator, I’m an alpha completely in love with his husband.” Gemini corrected, stealing a short kiss on his lips that made Fourth let out a giggle. “So get those ideas out of your head.”

Fourth widened his smile, completely happy. The hormonal storm had dissipated as quickly as it arrived, replaced by that typical warmth they shared. He lay back and rested his head on the armrest, pulling Gemini down with him so the alpha could hide his face in his neck like he always did.

“Alright, I forgive you.” Fourth sentenced in a dignified tone, stroking his alpha’s hair. “An order to make up for the scare... you're going to have to keep going with the massage and then buy ice cream.”

Gemini, trapped between the comforting scent of his partner and the recovered peace, smiled against the skin of his neck.

“Your wishes are my commands, my love.”

Gemini was preparing dinner when he heard a sob coming from the living room. He dropped the spatula, panic taking over him, and ran toward the sofa thinking something terrible had happened to his husband.

“Fourth! What’s wrong? Are you having contractions? Does something hurt?” Gemini asked, dropping to his knees in front of him, looking for any visible injury.

Fourth was staring at the TV screen, where a wildlife documentary was playing. On the screen, a cute penguin walked clumsily across the ice carrying an egg between its feet.

“Look at her, Gemini...” Fourth sobbed, wiping his nose with a tissue. “She walks just as slow as I do... and his partner crossed the entire frozen ocean just to bring her food...”

Gemini froze, looking at the penguin and then at his husband.
“Honey... are you crying over a penguin?”

Fourth looked at him indignantly, his eyes shining with tears.

“It’s a story of true love, Gemini! He risked his life for his family! On the other hand, today you grumbled when I asked you to go to the kitchen to bring me a glass of juice and a sandwich. A penguin is more considerate than my own alpha!”

Gemini had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from letting out a laugh that, he knew perfectly well, would end with him sleeping on the sofa, even if only for two whole minutes before Fourth went to get him and brought him back to the bedroom.

“You're absolutely right, my heaven.” Gemini said, adopting a solemn posture while stroking his belly over the fabric of the sweater. “I was a terrible alpha. I promise that from now on I’ll cross anywhere to bring you whatever you want. In fact, dinner is almost ready. Should I bring it to you here?”

The omega’s tantrum dissolved before his alpha’s submission and the smell of the food.

“Alright... and let’s watch the end of the documentary together.”

“Of course we will, my love.” Gemini responded, kissing his forehead.

After spending a couple of hours at the mall buying things for the baby, they decided to stop by a local coffee shop before heading home.

“Wait here for me, my love. I’m going to order the hot chocolate with marshmallows that you wanted.” Gemini said, leaving the shopping bags on a table near the large window and giving him a soft kiss on the cheek.

“You’re the one who wants the marshmallows.” Fourth raised an eyebrow.

“We share cravings.” Gemini shrugged, making Fourth laugh.

Gemini walked toward the counter laughing. Fourth stayed behind, looking out the window, his cheeks slightly flushed from the cold. He looked ridiculously cute, a magnet for anyone...
A few minutes passed and he attracted something, or rather, someone.

A young alpha, who had just entered the coffee shop, was completely mesmerized upon seeing Fourth. The guy blinked a few times, captivated by the omega’s beauty, and with a confident smile, the guy walked straight toward Fourth’s table.

“Hi.” The guy said, resting a hand on the back of the empty chair. “I...”

He didn't get to finish his sentence. As if he had materialized out of nowhere, a tall shadow planted itself right behind the guy. Gemini appeared holding two mugs with hot chocolate and marshmallows; his dark eyes were fixed on the intruder, and a dense, territorial blast of pheromones like overly bitter coffee flooded the air around the table.

The guy felt a shiver run down his spine and slowly turned his head, meeting Gemini’s intense glare.

“Did you lose something?” Gemini asked with a fake smile that didn't reach his eyes and a voice so low it made the other man tremble.

“I... uh... I was just...” The guy swallowed hard, taking a step back as he felt the imposing presence of the other alpha.

“My omega and I are busy.” Gemini sentenced, taking a step forward, physically marking his territory. “So move along. Get lost.”

The guy didn't need to be told twice. He turned pale, nodded clumsily, and bolted out of the coffee shop as if he had seen a ghost.

Gemini let out a huff, his jaw still tight, and set the mugs on the table, sitting down. He was still releasing warning pheromones, completely agitated by the stranger's boldness.

Fourth was struck dumb for a moment, processing everything. Gemini’s territorial fury, his tense shoulders, the way his eyes flashed with possessiveness... wow... damn...

“That asshole... did he bother you? Are you okay?” Gemini asked, checking him over with his eyes, still worked up.

“I’m okay.” Fourth murmured while nodding slowly.

Fourth tilted his head.

“Gemini, were you jealous?” Fourth already knew; he just wanted to hear it from his mouth.

“Of course I’m jealous. You’re mine. All of you is mine.” Gemini huffed.

Fourth bit his lower lip to keep from smiling.

“Gem, I want another baby.” He let out suddenly.

Gemini blinked, completely caught off guard.

“What? My love, you still have one inside you.”

“I don't care.” Fourth insisted. “As soon as this one is born, I want you to get me pregnant again. I want you to claim me so much that no other alpha dares to breathe near me.”

Gemini felt the blood rush straight down to his dick. This omega, seriously...

“Fourth, don't say those things right now. We are in a coffee shop and besides, you can barely walk from the weight of...”

“I said I want another baby.” Fourth interrupted him, and suddenly, his eyes widened completely. “No! Wait!”

Fourth, with an expression like he had just been enlightened, raised his right hand and spread his fingers.

“Five!” Fourth exclaimed, moving his open hand in front of a completely flabbergasted Gemini’s face.

“Five what, honey?”

“Five kids, Gemini! I want five babies!” The omega dictated with total seriousness, as if he were signing a royal decree. “Yes, five to start with. A huge house full of mini—yous and mini—mes running around everywhere, and you’ll have to be all over me taking care of me, giving me massages, and scaring away alphas forever. It looks very good to me.”

Gemini looked at his husband’s open hand —which marked a firm number five— and then looked down at his current belly.

The alpha let out a nervous laugh, running a hand over his face as his remaining jealousy dissolved into amusement and amazement.

“My love, my life.” Gemini said, taking Fourth’s hand to kiss each of the five extended fingers. “Do you really want to go through this four more times?”

Fourth pouted, pulling his hand away.

“Are you telling me that you won't be able to provide for five puppies and your omega? And are you also calling me weak, Gemini?” Fourth’s eyes began to well up with tears in record time. “I knew you didn't love me anymore! You just wanted an only child to save yourself the trouble of changing diapers and giving me massages!”

“No, no, my love, don't cry!” Gemini reacted instantly, leaning in to cradle Fourth’s face, peppering his face with tiny kisses. “We’ll have all the babies you want, and if you want, we can form a whole soccer team. I’d be happy to spend my entire life giving you massages, fulfilling your cravings, and changing diapers.”

A smile began to form on Fourth’s face.

“Really?”

“Really, my love. But first...” Gemini smiled, lowering a hand to caress the current little belly. “We are going to evict this first tenant who doesn't fit in there anymore, okay?”

Fourth laughed softly, completely pleased, and leaned in to seal the pact with a sweet kiss.
