Chapter Text
Anri: Welcome viewers, to a new season of Lovelock! I’m your host, Anri Teieri and this is Jinpachi Ego. Get ready for a month of drama, secrets and laughter!
Ego: Why do we do this every year?
Anri: Ignore him, he’s just as excited as I am.

Day 1:
The first islander, Isagi Yoichi. 21 years old with soft navy blue features.
Anri: Quite a looker we have here!
Ego: I’m calling it, he’s going to win.
Isagi enters, taking in the villa. A large open building and a massive pool and colourful signs. Isagi flushes, realising he’s the first to arrive.
Bachira Meguru, the next islander enters. He bounces, waving to every camera, somehow he even gets the hidden ones.
Ego: I don’t think I like him.
Anri: It’s been two minutes in, seriously Ego.
Bachira is also 21, sporting a unique yellow undercut in his black hair. Isagi hands him a glass of the welcome wine.
Bachira beams, taking his hand instead. “Hi it’s so nice to meet you!”
Isagi is taken aback at first but returns a warm smile and they introduce themselves. Bachira talks animatedly, not letting go of Isagi’s hand.
Anri: Looks to me like our second islander has developed a little crush!
Ego just sighs.
The next few islanders enters.
Reo Mikage.
Kunigami Rensuke.
Ego: He’s absolutely jacked.
Raichi Jingo.
Niko Ikki.
Ego: Hang on, Mikage Corporations? What’s he doing here, he doesn’t need this prize money?
Anri: You know some people actually do want to find love, you know.
Bachira and Isagi go and introduce themselves. The next islanders enter.
Anri: There will be twelve originals this year. I’m so excited!
“HELLOO!” A tanned blond man enters, Shidou Ryusei.
A white headed man follows after him, slouching. “I’m Nagi Seishiro.” He says simply, scratching the back of his neck. It’s hard to say whether this guy even knows what he’s doing here. Reo Mikage finds himself staring.
Micheal Kaiser comes in next. Blonde, tall, German and absolutely beautiful. He waves at the group smiling lazily.
Rin Itoshi enters. He gives Kaiser a run for his money. His teal eyes scan them but his face is impassive, almost unimpressed.
Ego: I think his lashes arrived five minutes before him.
The last two islanders come in. Alexis Ness who is another one to stand out with his magenta dyed hair and big doll eyes.
Hiori Yo is the last original islander. He smiles shyly and stands with the group.
Anri: He looks like a light blue cupcake.
Anri enters the villa, Ego behind her. She’s dressed up in a flowing red dress, baring her stomach.
“Hello Islanders! To start things off, I think we should jump into a little activity!”
Shidou grins. He’s ready to aggressively flirt with everyone in his path.
“Speed Dating!” Anri yells excitedly. “You have 20 minutes to talk to those who interest you. Make sure to have at least two or three conversations. We can’t have all our eggs in one basket.”
Reo approaches Nagi. The Mikage heir is doing most of the talking, however Nagi actually looks a little more interested than five minutes ago. “I like you.” Nagi says. He doesn’t like people often, they’re always loud and lots of work but this guy seemed like he wasn’t going to be a hassle. Reo blushes.
Rin didn’t really want to come on love island in the first place but to be honest, a part of him wanted to try it out.
He heavily regretted every decision when Shidou approached him, ogling at his eyes. “You resemble a cockroach." Rin says, annoyed. This only seemed to spur Shidou on, who’s past time was pissing people off. However he was trying to make connections not enemies and Rin was mighty fine. “I’m 21, and I work as a stuntman in films.” Rin relents, because Shidou’s job was kind of cool, and they switch professions. “I work as a model.”
Hiori approaches Rin and Raichi, Shidou. They switch partners, much to Rin’s delight. Hiori was much more his type, looks wise. Although Shidou actually wasn’t that bad after a while.
“I like your eyes!” Hiori smiles and his charm worked a little well on Rin because he found himself scrambling for a good response.
Shidou was chasing Raichi like a mad man. Not chasing, as in interested, but running at him. Raichi had told him for a fun fact that he was an incredibly good runner. Shidou wanted proof. “Cut it out idiot!” Raichi yelled, his sharp teeth showing.
Bachira and Isagi have been chatting it up and Kunigami jumps at the chance to talk to Isagi after they wrapped it up. “I’m 22 and I work as a personal trainer.” Isagi points at his bicep. “Yeah I can tell,” he laughs good naturedly. “I’m a sports teacher, but in my free time I love playing soccer.” Kunigami would have expected that. Isagi looked as if he had the patience of a saint. “I like sports too and cooking as well.”
Niko approached Bachira and had not wasted one second to talk about himself. “I’m a research scientist. You’ve probably heard my name before, I’ve worked in lots of famous experiments.” Bachira stared at him. “Cool, I guess?” Bachira was not a facts and data guy. They were probably not going to get along.
Raichi finally escapes Shidou and he pulls Niko in turn, letting Bachira escape.
Kaiser and Ness have been talking for nearly the entire challenge. They realized they were both German when Alexis tripped on a step and cussed in the language. Kaiser caught him by the waist and they hit it off immediately. They sat on the sofa, separated from the other islanders. Ness never believed in love at first sight but he did now.
"We like the same music and share a favourite movie, Liebling.” Kaiser laughed. Ness couldn’t help his smile at the German pet name. “Match made in heaven,” he joked, but he wasn’t really joking on his part.

“Times up Islanders!” Anri smiled, gesturing for them to round up. “Time to couple up! Ego, which half goes behind doors?”
Ego scrutinised the crowd. Being a co host was hard work, he thought. He had to match it up so the audience could have good TV. “Kaiser, Isagi, Rin, Raichi, Nagi, and Shidou.”
“You six will go behind these doors, and you have to stand in front of the person you want to couple up with.” Anri said. Shidou groaned knowing he and Rin were both choices and that was his only productive conversation. “The remaining six, make your choices now.”
Bachira went straight to Isagi's door and was surprised to see Kunigami there as well. Ego whispers to Anri, “I told you, he was going to be popular.”
Ness was at Kaiser’s door and Reo at Nagi’s. Ego does not stop his commentary. “They’re both birds. You told them to not only have one conversation.” Anri sighs.
Hiori goes behind Rin’s door and Niko begins Raichi’s.
“No need to be scared, open up and see who wants to couple with you!” Anri announces once they are locked in.
Isagi nervously turns the handle only to see that there are two people waiting for him. “Isagi, it looks like you will have to pick between the two.” Anri says, “And don’t feel bad, there will always be time to grow both connections.”
Isagi gives an apologetic look to Kunigami. “I think I want to pick Bachira.”
Kunigami smiles a little disappointed. “No hard feelings,” he said.
Kaiser is pleased to see that Ness has chosen him. Alexis was cute like a puppy, absolutely his type.
Nagi expects Reo. He gives him a small smile.
Raichi and Niko are coupled up. Neither of them look too happy about it but not upset either. They had a good connection but it was nothing special.
Hiori stands beside Rin, their height difference quite big. Hiori slips his arm around his. Rin is glad he didn’t end up like Shidou.
When Shidou opened his door, there was no one. He expected it and didn’t care until he realised that he had to couple up with Kunigami. They begrudgingly stood beside each other, Shidou already disliked him and the feeling was definitely mutual for Kunigami. If Anri and Ego thought they were doing something by putting these two together without any previous interactions and expecting hot steamy sex they were dead wrong. It would probably be more likely for them to have a brawl.

The rest of the day was for free time and getting to know each other. Kaiser and Ness disappeared from the open space, hiding in the bathroom to kiss and then some.
Nagi lay on a swinging bench and Reo lay with him. Nagi would rather do nothing with Reo than do nothing alone.
Isagi and Bachira swam in the pool with Raichi, Niko and Kunigami. Shidou had ditched Kunigami instantly, opting to explore the villa himself.
Hiori and Rin sat by the pool dipping their feet in, and no one wasted time looking at Rin’s hard abs when he took off his shirt.
Isagi hated to say it. He was disgustingly attracted to Rin from the moment he saw him. His features were perfect. To the subtle curve of his nose, his lower lashes and his dark green bangs that Isagi wanted to touch, just to see if it was as soft as it looked.
He liked Bachira, but during the speed dating he had hoped to talk to Rin but both were occupied the whole time. Isagi hoped Rin had a horrifying personality otherwise he would be a goner.
Rin could feel Isagi’s eyes on him. How annoying that he was the one with two suitors at his door. If Isagi kept that cute boy-next-door act he was going to become the audience’s fast favourite. Rin wanted to win this stupid island and get the money. He leaned closer to Hiori, resting one arm around his waist. The blue haired boy flushed pink, marring his milky pale skin.
“Have you ever been in a relationship?” Rin asks, turning to look at him. Hiori was surprisingly not that good at holding eye contact. “Ah once, in high school. It was years ago.” He waved his hand as if it was unimportant. Rin inwardly groaned. “You know I’ve always thought that a person having one past relationship than twenty past relationships is worse.” “Yeah I know, that’s valid for you to think that” Hiori sighed. “I want to hear about it.” Rin hoped he was not coming off weird.
“Well, we were really good friends for a while and eventually it just became sort of normal being with him. Once we got older and things started to get more serious, we kind of dropped it.” Hiori stared at his hands. To Rin, it sounded like he wasn’t totally over this person. It wasn’t like he had much experience either. He’s never had a relationship, just people he would talk to and mess around with. He never let them get too close. Rin couldn’t treat anyone here like that. He might be here for money but he also did want to grow as a person.
“Just kiss already!!” Bachira yelled at them, floating like a starfish in the pool. Rin felt his face growing hot. “Come on, let's go somewhere more private.” He took Hiori's hand and went to a small secluded area, labelled ‘Speak Easy’.
Rin did get the kiss.

"If we got locked in the Hideaway, what would we do?" Bachira swivels on the bar chair.
Isagi nearly chokes on his drink.
Thankfully Kaiser and Ness walk in the kitchen saving him from a response.
“Where have you guys been the whole time?” Isagi asked. He knew the answer already from the way they acted during the speed dating. Staying with one person and thinking you’ll be safe throughout the Island’s challenges and temptations is the worst idea.
Ness breezes past him, ignoring them with a smile on his face. Kaiser smirks and ruffles Isagi’s hair. “Wouldn’t you like to know. Yoichi right?” Isagi grimaced and swatted his hand away. He and Bachira leave. Ness makes Kaiser food and they cuddle on the sofa outside.
Ego: He definitely doesn’t want to know.
“I’m going to vomit.” Raichi groans.

Nagi and Reo are still on the swinging bench. Nagi stares upwards and Reo is turned to face him. “You have a nice side profile.” He murmurs, mostly to himself, but Nagi has insane hearing for some reason. “Thanks. I think you have a nice face Reo.” This makes him smile and lean a bit closer. If Nagi just turned his head, their faces would be so close.
“What’s your idea of a dream date?” Reo asks, curious.
“Staying inside.” Nagi replies simply.
“Perfect.” Reo beams. “Can I take care of you while we are here together Nagi? I’ll make sure you have as little hassle as possible.”
This makes Nagi turn his head, which surprises Reo because he severely miscalculated and they were actually closer than he thought. Their noses grazed. “Do you mean that? Because if you do, we can be together for as long as you want.”
Reo takes him up on that promise, wondering why his heart feels so warm.
Anri: I think I found my personal favourite couple.
Ego: Isagi is my favourite.

Shidou has turned Lovelock into an obstacle course. He was incredibly flexible and quick and he jumped and hollered everywhere.
He created turf on the kitchen counter, standing on top shirtless and threatening those who came close that his pants were next.
Ego: Can he stop.
Anri: I think it’s kind of cute. Maybe he’ll find someone to match his freak.
Kunigami tries to make a pact with Isagi and Bachira.
“Hey if Islanders get an opportunity to vote people out, can we get rid of him?”

That night the islanders prepared for bed time. Isagi was lost in thought as he brushed his teeth. Seeing Rin’s bed hair tomorrow would surely be a glimpse of heaven. He needed to stop, his crush only grew worse.
Bachira sang in the shower too loudly and walked out naked in the dressing room. “You can consider my night ruined!” Raichi yelled, throwing a towel at him. Hiori laughs at them. Despite not being a whole day yet, he liked this group a lot.
However, the worst part was not Bachira for one person. Kunigami had gone back to the bathroom a bit later to pee before bedtime and he was in for a rude awakening of Ness’s moans as he and Kaiser were doing what they were doing in the shower. His soul left his body when he heard it and then promptly left.
Shidou hogged the whole damn bed on purpose and Kunigami was already in a pissy mood. No pun intended. “Get off jackass.”
Shidou snorted, “Oh I know how to get off alright.”
Kunigami throws his pillow on the floor and lies down, letting the freak win just this once.
Isagi lays soundly in bed, his eyelids getting heavy. “Hey!” Bachira jumps on him, making Isagi see the light.
Rin had his eye mask on and was done with his skincare. He wrapped his arms around Hiori and fell asleep immediately.
Hiori, nearly completely engulfed under the blanket, had good dreams that night.
Kaiser and Ness eventually leave the shower. They lay in bed, although Ness felt restless. He couldn’t help the giddy feeling in his heart as Kaiser held him. He knew he should take things a bit slower but all thoughts seemed to disappear as the blonde man pressed a kiss on his temple. “Night Nessie.” “Goodnight Micha.”
