Work Text:
The hall was buzzing.
Glasses clinking.
Half-drunk people laughing, dancing, and singing.
That was GMMTV Outing.
One of those events everyone in GMMTV was excited for throughout the entire year.
No duty, no worries.
Just an entire day filled with fun and friends.
The costumes were on point. The games were wild.
When the night hit, drinks were brought out and the music turned up. People were dancing, drinking, and laughing.
Occasionally, moments were captured in videos that would blow up the next morning.
Everyone knew, but no one cared.
After several hours, the party slowly calmed.
Some couples started leaving for their rooms to catch some sleep. Others had already passed out at their tables or even in the entrance hall.
Usually, Pond was the one to get drunk first.
Mostly because Phuwin apparently enjoyed nothing more than filling him up.
This time, though, Pond had been a little more careful of his partner's actions and limited his number of drinks.
Of course, he was still a bit tipsy, but not as bad as in the past few years, where he'd lost parts of his memory.
Phuwin, on the other hand, went all in tonight.
Taking shots with the Lonely Gang or just whoever was passing by. Getting a new drink whenever the previous one wasn't in his hand anymore.
It surprised Pond every time how well Phuwin could handle drinking that much without passing out on the spot or losing his memory the next day.
Pond's energy slowly left his body.
He felt drained and slumped into a chair at one of the round tables next to Gemini, who had fallen asleep a few minutes ago with his head tipped back, mouth open and limbs spread out in all directions.
Pond watched the dance floor.
Or, more specifically, one person on it.
Phuwin.
He was currently dancing with Fourth and P'Ying.
Miraculously, he managed to not spill a single drop of his drink while hopping around to the music.
At some point, he threw his head back and laughed hard at one of Fourth's wild dance moves.
Even in a moment like this, Pond couldn't help but smile at his partner.
Despite his brown hair sticking out in random directions or partially clinging to his slightly sweaty skin, Pond couldn't help but think how beautiful he looked.
Phuwin downed two more shots with Fourth in no time and finished his drink once again.
Pond got up and walked over to them. He slowly approached Phuwin from behind, who kept arguing with P'Ying about the importance of another refill.
His hand gently came to rest on Phuwin's shoulder, who immediately turned around, a bit startled by the sudden touch.
When he saw Pond, a bright smile spread across his face.
"Pond!
You agree, right?
I didn't even have that many drinks tonight.
Tell her, Pond!
Tell P'Ying that one more drink wouldn't kill me."
He looked at Pond with those big pleading eyes, which Pond usually couldn't resist.
But he knew Phuwin all too well.
"I'm sorry, Phu, but I think you really had enough for tonight. People are leaving already."
"Traitor!" Fourth shouted, having just appeared on Phuwin's side, pointing at Pond while swaying slightly before he gripped Phuwin's shirt to not lose his balance entirely.
"You're boring, P'Pond.
Let me have some fun for one night," Phuwin pouted while crossing his arms in front of his chest.
Before Pond could laugh and melt at Phuwin's cute protest, he realized what word had just left Phuwin's mouth.
"Wait, did you just call me Phi? P'Pond?!"
Phuwin seemed to also have realized what he'd just said and tried to play it down.
"What? No!
You imagined that.
I just said Pond."
Pond grinned at that.
"Well, anyway, Nong Phuwin. I think I will go up to our room. It's getting pretty late and I wanted to get at least a few hours of sleep before our event tomorrow."
Phuwin just sighed.
"One night, Pond.
We have one night to do whatever we want without thinking about our schedule and just have some fun, and you're leaving already?
It's just getting started, right Fourth?"
He turned to Fourth, who already held another half-filled cup he had just found on one of the closest tables.
"Yeeeeeeaaaah. Cheers!"
Pond simply smiled and shook his head.
"You're unbelievable. But I'm not forcing you.
Just don't drink too much and maybe listen to Mae Ying once in a while.
I'm going up now.
Don't lose your key card and try not too shout too much when you get back later. I'll probably be asleep by then."
Phuwin sighed again and rolled his eyes.
"Yes, Dad. I will behave. Like always."
"Sorry," Pond said quietly, "I'm just a little worried."
Fourth appeared behind Phuwin again.
"Oi! You are no fun, Khun Thee!
Ratri sawat na khon deu."
Phuwin burst out laughing and threw an arm around Fourth's shoulder, pulling him closer to the music again.
Pond kept smiling on his way out into the entrance hall, where the music was muffled a little.
When he got back to their shared room, Pond almost collapsed onto one of the beds.
His body felt sore, like he had just run a marathon, and sleep was in desperate need.
Still, the day had been another adventure that he'd treasure forever.
Before sleep could finally take over his body, he managed to pull himself into the bathroom for a quick shower.
While the warm water streamed down his skin, he replayed some moments of the day.
Surprisingly, Phuwin appeared in almost all of them, which caused another smile.
The bus ride, where they had sat almost next to each other for several hours.
The arrival at the resort, where they had discovered the balconies of their shared rooms.
The first games in the big hall, where they had been dressed together in shiny blue plastic and pink silk and decorated like Christmas trees.
The beach visit, where everyone had taken photos of the beautiful sunset and each other, but Pond somehow couldn't take his eyes off Phuwin.
The quick swim in the pool, where Fourth had decided that he could cross the pool faster than Est, which didn't even have to turn into a competition, and Pond had stayed on the side, watching shirtless Phuwin take pictures with the others.
The costume contest, where the Lonely Gang had pulled up as cute Power Rangers and Pond had been grateful for his Michael Jackson sunglasses and the hat which hid his red ears.
Finally, the after-party, where they'd been dancing together and shared love shots.
After the shower, he slipped into his bed and the alcohol hit him the moment he closed his eyes.
For a moment, he thought about staying awake and waiting for Phuwin to return, but then his thoughts drifted, and sleep finally took over.
-
Pond woke up again 30 minutes later from a desperate knocking sound at the door that quickly turned into an aggressive banging.
Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice.
"Pond!
POND!
You asleep already?!
Open the damn door!
I can't believe this.
POND!!!"
After another banging, he got up from his bed, but was quickly reminded of the remaining alcohol in his system.
He straightened up before crossing the room, rubbing his tired eyes and slowly opening the door.
"Phuwinnn, I told you not to shout when you get back and not lose your key card. You could've just called-"
That's when Pond finally looked at the person in front of him.
"Joong?" he rubbed his eyes again.
"Finally! For a second I thought you were dead," Joong said, visibly relieved and out of breath.
Pond just stared at him and then peeked out into the empty corridor.
He was alone.
"What's wrong?" He asked, slightly confused.
Joong sighed and shook his head.
"You tell me, my friend, because ever since you left to get your beauty sleep, something has possessed your boyfriend and your son-in-law to be."
It took Pond a second to process the words.
"He is not my boyfriend."
Joong threw his hands over his eyes.
"Oh. My. God.
That is all you can think about?!
I had to flirt with the lady at the reception for 10 minutes straight, just to get her to tell me your room number.
I almost broke your door.
And that's the first thing you say?!"
He stared at a confused Pond in disbelief.
"You need professional help, my friend."
Pond's exhaustion vanished.
"What? Okay, okay. Slow down."
He grabbed Joong's shoulders.
"Now tell me what happened. Where is Phuwin? But slowly."
Joong shook his head frantically and pulled at his arm.
"We don't have time for slowly.
Get your key card and I'll tell you on the way."
"On the way where?"
Pond was still confused, but quickly grabbed his key card before Joong dragged him down the corridor to the elevator.
"Joong! Tell me what happened? Is Phuwin okay? Is he hurt?"
Worry started spreading quickly with every step Pond took.
When they were finally in the elevator, Joong took a deep breath before speaking.
"He is not hurt as far as I know. But-"
Suddenly, Joong closed his eyes and rested his head against the elevator door.
He was clearly drunk.
"Joong! What do you mean 'But-'?"
Pond almost shouted at him, shaking Joong's shoulders violently.
Joong's eyes opened again and he pointed into the air.
"When you left, Phuwin and Fourth somehow got their hands on a full bottle of exclusive red wine, aged for over 50 years."
Joong sighed dramatically.
"I was sooo jealous! But then they were gone."
Joong sighed again and dropped his arm.
Cold panic settled in Pond's chest while the digital numbers of the elevator slowly decreased.
"Gone?! What do you mean gone???"
Joong then grinned with his eyes half-closed and pointed somewhere into the air again.
Pond followed his finger to a poster on the wall of the elevator.
It was an information sheet about the opening hours of the pool.
When the realization hit, Pond closed his eyes for a second.
"No. He did not."
Joong looked amused.
"That's what I thought too.
I mean, it's Phuwin, right?
That's why I said, he was possessed!
But again, he is with Fourth, so kind of it makes sense.
Anyway, when Gemini woke up and realized where they went, he panicked too and told me to get you to help since we're all drunk.
When I got to the elevator, though, I realized that I forgot to ask for your room number.
Soooo I had to talk to that friendly lady and yeah... but now I got you!" Joong explained proudly.
When they finally reached the ground floor, the elevator doors slowly opened with a ping.
Now Pond was the one to pull Joong out.
They quickly crossed the lobby.
Joong lost one of his slippers on the way and complained, but Pond convinced him that there was something far more concerning than a lost slipper.
They finally made their way outside to the pool area and a cooling breeze hit Pond's skin.
The dark night was lit by dim lights from the pool.
He stopped instantly when he stepped onto a familiar shirt on the ground.
Then he followed a trail of discarded pieces of clothing to the big pool.
He couldn't believe his eyes.
For a moment, he genuinely thought he was still dreaming.
Fourth was standing on a rock next to the pool, dressed in just a T-shirt and boxers.
His arms were lifted up and he held a shot glass in one hand and his pants in the other.
"Happy Biiiiirthday to youuuu," he sang, or almost screamed, while swinging his pants dangerously from left to right.
Gemini was standing next to the rock and desperately begged him to come down.
Then a shout came from the middle of the pool.
"Ai Fourth! My birthday is next month! That's bad luck!"
There he was.
Phuwin.
Sitting on an air mattress in just his boxers and lifting a wine bottle to his lips.
"Oi! Fourth! It's already empty. Why did you drink that much?"
He held up the bottle in protest.
Fourth threw his pants at Phuwin in complaint.
"You were the one drinking from it the whole time. I just got a tiny sip."
Pond stood frozen in disbelief as the chaos unfolded before him.
Even Joong seemed sober enough now to realize what was happening.
After several seconds, Pond finally found his voice.
"Phuwin.
What is going on?"
The three of them only then realized they had company.
"Finally, Joong! Someone come and help me get him down from there," Gemini shouted in relief and pointed at Fourth, who was now slightly swaying on the rock.
Joong quickly ran over and helped Gemini carefully get Fourth down before he could slip.
"You're no fun," Fourth complained, but let himself be pulled down.
Gemini had a tight grip on his arm and pulled him towards the lobby.
"It was so much fun just now and you ruined it," Fourth cried out, but Gemini was determined to get him inside.
Phuwin had watched the scene from the middle of the pool, the empty bottle still in his hand.
"Bye-bye, FotFot!" he shouted and waved at Gemini and Fourth disappearing inside.
Then his eyes landed on Pond, who still stood at the same spot and couldn't believe what had just happened.
A teasing grin appeared on Phuwin's face.
"Wanna join me?
But only if you brought a drink."
Pond then came to his senses.
"What?
Phuwin. What are you doing?
Get out of that pool before the staff catches you!"
Phuwin rolled his eyes.
"Chill. No one will notice. You're so demanding when you're sober. Kind of regret not getting you drunk today."
Pond shook his head and Joong suddenly spoke.
"Phuwin, he is right.
It's really late now and we don't want anything to happen to you.
Please, get out of that pool."
Drunk Phuwin crossed his arms in front of his chest and looked away.
"Nope. I really like it here."
Pond started pacing at the edge of the pool.
"Phuwin, please," he begged, but failed.
"If you want me in bed that badly, come and get me," Phuwin teased and grinned at Pond.
Joong burst out laughing.
Pond covered his eyes helplessly.
"I am surrounded by drunk people, what did I expect?" he said more to himself before taking off his slippers and jumping into the pool.
The second the cool water hit him, it washed away all the remaining alcohol.
He quickly swam over to Phuwin, whose air mattress dipped dangerously from the waves Pond had created.
"Hey hey, careful!" he complained, tightening his grip on the cheap plastic with one hand, while the other still had a tight grip on the empty wine bottle.
When Pond reached him, he immediately grabbed the corner of the mattress and pulled it to the edge of the pool.
Phuwin kept grinning triumphantly.
"Ohoo! Look at how desperate you are for me.
Not even taking off your shirt before jumping in.
I wouldn't have complained about a little sexy lifeguard show.
But don't you worry, I can help with that shirt too later."
Pond snorted into the water in disbelief, but couldn't prevent his ears from turning red.
Luckily, the dim lights hid his reaction.
Joong was hovering in front of the pool while enjoying the whole scene way too much.
When they reached the edge, Pond grabbed Phuwin's arm before he could escape and pulled him off the mattress.
Phuwin yelped in surprise as Pond slid an arm under his legs and moved up the stairs, carrying him in a bridal carry out of the pool.
Joong captured the whole scene with his phone while giggling at his friends.
"Did I miss the wedding?" he joked, and Phuwin started laughing too, still in Pond's arms, and he didn't complain.
With determined steps, Pond walked over to one of the sun loungers and gently placed Phuwin down.
Both of them were dripping wet.
He didn't know if he was angry or tired or just relieved that nothing too serious had happened. But he still couldn't fully believe anything.
He looked over at Joong, who was still filming everything.
"You're no help, you know," he snorted while shaking his head.
Grabbing a forgotten towel from the lounger, he quickly started drying Phuwin's hair and body.
Phuwin, on the other hand, let him and enjoyed every second of it.
"Cut!"
Joong suddenly shouted like a very serious movie director.
"I didn't catch that from the right angle."
Phuwin burst out laughing again, while Pond then dried himself roughly without a comment.
"Should I carry you again or can you walk on your own?" Pond asked, but Phuwin just smiled, so he lifted him up again and carried him towards the lobby.
Joong followed, still giggling.
-
The way up to their room was a mission itself.
Phuwin started singing when they passed by the reception, waving at the lady behind the counter with the empty wine bottle.
Pond's steps quickened at that, and he smiled apologetically.
Joong finally pressed the right elevator button after they had stopped at three different floors.
At last, he opened the room for them like a doormam.
"Thanks, Joong," Pond said clearly exhausted and stepped inside, Phuwin still in his arms.
He only then noticed that Phuwin had gone quiet and rested his head against his shoulder, eyes closed while breathing peacefully against Pond's neck.
Joong just smiled.
"Take care of him, my friend. I'll send you the video tomorrow," he said, winked once, and disappeared down the corridor.
Pond just sighed, closed the door with his foot, and gently placed Phuwin on the closest bed.
Only then he realized that he had carried Phuwin all the way there and suddenly felt his aching arms.
Phuwin stirred awake again and sat up, a little disoriented.
Pond took the empty wine bottle from his hand.
The whole way to their room, he had gripped it like his life depended on it.
Phuwin just stared.
First at the bottle, then at Pond, and a new grin was plastered on his face.
Pond sat the bottle aside and disappeared into the bathroom, almost emotionless.
Phuwin just sat there on the bed like a statue.
A small drop of water fell from his hair and landed on his skin.
He shivered.
Pond had returned with a glass of water and handed it to him.
"Here you go. Drink that and then let's take a quick shower before you get sick," Pond said, not meeting his eyes.
Phuwin sipped the water without complaint and quietly watched Pond's every move.
When he finished, Pond gently took his arm, pulled him up, and moved towards the bathroom.
Phuwin followed, but suddenly stopped when a wave of nausea hit him.
Pond noticed immediately and quickly pulled him to the toilet.
"There you go", he said in a gentle tone and softly rubbed his partner's back while he vomited.
Phuwin whined afterwards, and Pond quickly grabbed the glass from the sink, filling it again, and helping him to rinse his mouth.
He held him by the waist as they carefully entered the shower.
Phuwin sighed in relief when the warm water hit his cold skin.
He let himself be steadied by Pond's strong hands.
Pond turned him around and gently washed his hair.
Phuwin's thoughts wandered back to the pool, where Pond had pulled him out of the water, and he couldn't resist smiling.
Pond's arms were tense the entire way up to their room.
Now he was carefully washing Phuwin's skin.
Phuwin smiled wider and turned to face Pond, but his smile instantly faded when he saw his expressionless face.
Pond avoided his gaze and focused on cleaning him.
He was still wearing the clothes that clung wet to his body.
Goosebumps were visibly spread across his exposed skin, and his hands felt cold on Phuwin's hot skin.
Then it hit Phuwin and he suddenly felt very sober.
Throughout the entire way up to their room, Pond hadn't once complained.
Phuwin placed a hand on Pond's upper arm, which stilled his movements for a split second, but then he continued, focused on rinsing the soap off Phuwin's skin.
"Are you not angry at me?" Phuwin carefully asked.
Pond didn't respond immediately.
He turned off the water and grabbed one of the large white towels, wrapping Phuwin in it and then patting his skin dry.
"I'm just a little tired," Pond said, still emotionless, still not meeting his eyes.
He helped him out of the shower.
For a moment, the silence in the bathroom felt heavy.
"Can you brush your teeth on your own?" he carefully asked without a sign of sarcasm in his voice.
Phuwin nodded quietly, trying to meet his eyes, but failed again.
"I'll take a quick shower and then help you with your clothes, okay?"
He waited for Phuwin's approval and then quickly stripped off his wet clothes before stepping under the hot steam.
Phuwin sat on the counter, wrapped in the soft towel, and absentmindedly brushed his teeth.
Occasionally, he looked over to the shower. Through the hot steam, he could make out the outlines of Pond's body moving quickly.
Just when Phuwin finished, Pond stepped out of the shower, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist.
Phuwin tried again. "Are you really not mad at what I did?"
Silence.
Pond propped his hands on the edge of the empty sink and stared down while small droplets fell from his hair.
Phuwin continued.
"I mean, why are you still helping me, despite what I did?"
Pond's jaw tightened, but he didn't move.
Phuwin kept going.
"I behaved like a total idiot out there.
Got drunk so bad. I let you drag me out of the pool, carry me up here, clean up my mess, help me shower, and-"
"Because I care about you."
Silence.
That words hit Phuwin harder than any punch could have.
Pond's eyes now met his directly through the mirror.
His voice sounded exhausted.
He held Phuwin's gaze.
"Because I was worried sick when Joong banged on my door and told me you were gone. Drunk at the pool."
Phuwin swallowed but stayed quiet.
"Because God knows what could've happened to you!"
Pond almost shouted.
His chest rose and fell rapidly.
Phuwin froze.
For a moment, he forgot how to breathe.
The words still echoed through the bathroom.
He had never seen that side of him before. Throughout all the years side by side, Pond had never raised his voice at him.
Not once.
But now he did.
Not because he was angry at him, but because he was worried.
"You can't imagine how relieved I was when I saw you sitting on that air mattress in the middle of the pool."
Pond looked away.
His reflection blurred.
For a moment, Phuwin thought he was simply exhausted.
Then noticed his eyes turning watery.
Pond noticed it too and dropped his gaze lower to the sink.
"I was so angry at myself.
For not properly taking care of you.
For leaving you alone just so I could sleep.
God."
He snorted and looked up at the ceiling when a tear fell.
"I'm angry at myself for being so stupid and selfish.
I couldn't even take care of you for once.
Every year I get drunk and you have to take care of me.
I'm your Phi.
I should be the one taking care of you.
I want to take care of you.
And then one time I'm finally not drunk.
I could've finally proven myself to be a good partner.
Take care of you, like I should.
Like I always want to.
And look at what I did."
A sarcastic smile appeared for a second.
Something else Phuwin had never seen on his face before.
"You deserve a good partner."
Pond laughed softly.
It sounded hollow.
"Someone to take care of you.
Someone to make sure you're happy at all times."
A single tear slipped free.
"Someone you can rely on."
His voice broke.
Who will love you with all his heart."
He looked up again for a second, smiling sadly at Phuwin.
Tears fell freely now.
His head dropped again.
"Not someone like me."
The words hung in the air.
Phuwin felt his chest tightening painfully.
For a moment, he couldn't move.
Couldn't speak or even think.
Then Pond's shoulders started trembling.
That finally broke the last bit of composure he had left.
He pushed himself off the counter and was behind Pond in two steps.
His arms encircled Pond's waist and pulled him close.
Tight against his own body.
His forehead pressed to Pond's still damp back.
"Stop saying something like that," Phuwin almost whispered, his lips brushing Pond's skin.
Pond's voice broke.
"I failed, Phuwin.
This is not what you deserve."
Phuwin shook his head and felt his own tears falling.
Then he smiled against Pond's skin, still pressed to his back.
"You're everything I need, Pond.
You didn't fail.
I made a mistake today.
I didn't care about anything.
Especially not about you.
This is my fault.
Not yours.
Look at what you did, even though I should've faced the consequences on my own.
You didn't think about yourself for a second.
You jumped into that pool without thinking.
Made sure to dry me after.
Carried me all the way up here like I weigh nothing, and believe me when I say that I know I don't.
You took care of me.
Showered me.
You made sure I wouldn't get sick, while you were standing there in your wet clothes freezing.
And you didn't even think about being angry at me.
How could you possibly fail?
You notice things no one else notices.
You always know when something's wrong, even when I don't tell you.
You always make sure I'm comfortable. No matter where we are.
Maybe you're doing it subconsciously, but I always feel safe when I'm with you.
Always taken care of.
I don't know what I did to deserve you in my life.
So please.
Don't ever say something like that again."
He paused for a breath.
"You're not just a partner to me."
At that, Pond's head lifted and he slowly turned in Phuwin's tight hold.
He finally faced him directly.
Eyes meeting eyes.
Phuwin smiled a little through his watery eyes and brought a hand up to brush away some tears from Pond's cheeks.
His hand lingered and then gently pushed back some stubborn hair that had fallen across his forehead.
"Thank you for taking care of me today, P'Pond.
I really don't deserve you,"
Phuwin whispered into the space between them.
His eyes never once left Pond's.
Pond blinked hard.
It didn't stop the tears from forming.
And then finally, a smile.
"I'm going to do something stupid now," Pond said quietly.
"Something selfish once again.
And I hope you won't hate me for it or regret it tomorrow."
He cupped Phuwin's face with one of his hands.
The other came to rest on his hip and he pulled him even closer.
One more breath.
Phuwin could feel the warmth of Pond's hand against his cheek.
He leaned in.
Closer.
For a heartbeat, neither of them moved.
Then Pond carefully captured Phuwin's soft lips in a kiss.
It wasn't hurried or desperate, but Pond poured all his emotions into it.
At first, Phuwin let him lead.
But soon he couldn't hold himself back either and started kissing him back.
He pressed his body closer, wanting to feel as much of him as possible.
Pond's skin was burning now.
Phuwin clearly felt the difference compared to earlier, when he had showered him with his freezing hands.
After a while, they slowly pulled apart.
The steam-filled bathroom felt impossibly quiet.
Only their uneven breaths filled the space between them.
Phuwin lowered his head onto Pond's shoulder and then kissed his collarbone.
"If this is your definition of being selfish, then I'd like you to be selfish more often."
He felt Pond tightening his grip on his waist.
"And also, after today, you should know that I love stupid things."
He kissed his broad shoulder and felt him shiver at that.
The corners of Pond's mouth lifted again.
"Bed?"
He asked while caressing the younger's back.
Phuwin smiled, nodded, and sniffed Pond's neck.
He was about to pull back, when Pond suddenly lowered himself, slid an arm under his legs, and lifted him up, just like earlier.
Phuwin yelped in surprise and laughed hard.
"Are you still not tired after carrying me through the entire resort?
I told you I don't weigh nothing. You're gonna be sore tomorrow."
Pond grinned.
"You know, first of all, didn't you complain earlier about me telling you what to do?
And second, no matter what you weigh, I'd always carry you, Nong Phu."
At those words, he quickly leaned in and kissed his cheek.
"You're unbelievable."
Heat crept up Phuwin's neck despite himself.
Pond carried him out of the bathroom and lowered him onto the bed.
Before he could step back, though, Phuwin quickly slid his arms around Pond's neck and pulled him down flush against his own body, which was now barely covered by the towel.
"Careful," Pond said with a warning expression, but the smile never left his lips.
He placed another small peck on the soft cheek before freeing himself and getting up.
"You still need to put on some clothes, or else you're really going to get sick."
Phuwin sighed, while letting himself fall back into the soft mattress.
"But I could help if you're too tired," Pond added while holding up a fresh set of clothes.
A smug smile sat on Phuwin's face as he propped himself up on his elbows.
"How could I turn down an invitation like that?"
Before Pond sat down on the other's bed, he pushed his own bed closer to close the initial gap between them.
"Just in case you toss and turn too much in that small bed tonight.
I don't want to find you on the ground by tomorrow," he said and cleared his throat.
Phuwin laughed again.
"Of course. Can't risk that.
So you better hold me tight then."
Pond's ears were bright red, so he quickly pulled the fresh shirt over Phuwin's head.
The younger's complaint was swallowed by the fabric.
He helped him into the rest of his clothes and quickly put on some fresh boxers and shorts himself before slipping under the blanket.
He turned to Phuwin and smiled again.
Not a mischievous one though.
This one was honest and warm.
"Come here," he said and opened his arms.
Phuwin didn't want to be told twice and moved closer, pressing himself against Pond's bare chest, face nuzzled against his neck.
"Why can you sleep shirtless, but I have to be covered?" Phuwin asked against his skin.
Pond could hear the pout in his muffled voice.
"Because I don't want you to get sick."
"And you won't get sick?" Phuwin complained while pulling back to look him in the eyes.
Pond pulled him in.
"No, because you're warming me."
Phuwin couldn't help but smiled at that and pressed even closer.
"You know, if I take my shirt off, we'd have skin contact and I could share even more warmth with-"
Pond kissed him before he could continue.
"You're still drunk."
"What a bad excuse," Phuwin pouted again.
"Also, I'm not that drunk anymore.
Plus, the wine went pretty much all down the toilet anyway."
Pond laughed into his partner's still slightly damp hair.
"Do you have any idea how expensive that wine was?" Pond asked while he stared at the empty bottle sitting on the table next to the door.
Phuwin simply grinned and pressed a small kiss to Pond's chin.
"Well, for whatever remained inside me, now you got yourself something even more expensive."
He pointed at himself smugly.
Pond shook his head with a bright smile and placed another soft kiss on Phuwin's temple.
"Just sleep, Phu."
The End
