‘Park Sunghoon from the boy-group ENHYPEN stuns in new hair color’, the article read. And just like that, Sunoo had found out his bandmate had dyed his hair. No, this was a problem. Bigger than anyone could imagine. Because, for the first time in six years they’ve been together as a group, Sunghoon had dyed his hair light brown. The same hair color he had the first time the two of them ever saw each other. The same hair color he had when Sunoo would sneak up glances at him during dance practices on their trainee days. The same hair color Sunghoon had when Sunoo had a silly crush on him. And for the first time in so long, Sunoo felt his heart skip a beat while looking at a picture of his now best friend. He thought those feeling were long gone, buried, six feet under, and he would like them to stay that way. But there he was, holding his phone, scrolling through endless pictures of Sunghoon at the Prada event with his new (old) hair color, wearing his bangs down and smiling brightly. He thanked all the deities he knew for not letting him attend that schedule today because he wasn’t sure how he would had been able to behave otherwise.
“Sunoo, it’s your turn now!”, Jake was letting him know he had to get his makeup done. Right, he was still at work. For a moment, he felt himself breathing properly again. “Snap out of it”, he told himself, putting his phone away and walking towards Jake.
Once they were done for the day, he picked up his phone again, breathing deeply after seeing a KakaoTalk notification.

Look! I dyed my hair
How is it?
Do you like it?
He didn’t wanna open it, but his hands moved faster than his thoughts. Sunghoon had sent Sunoo a selfie showing off his new hair color, and that was the last straw for him. He suddenly felt like he didn’t know how he usually would respond to a message like this. He typed for longer than he intended, settling down for a casual “yeah, looks good!” without spending much longer thinking if it sounded normal or not. He wanted to go home, sleep it out; maybe the tiredness had gotten to him. So on the way home, he put his phone away and tried to take a nap. Jake and Riki, who were with him, exchanged glances, confused. Sunoo wasn’t the type to sleep in the car, much less put his phone away. They were relatively close to the dorms as well, so it was even stranger.
“What’s with you?”, Riki asked.
“I’m tired, let me sleep for a bit”, Sunoo replied, trying to shut off his mind, but another voice was heard.
“Since when do you sleep in the car?”, Jake asked, slightly concerned. “Are you sick? Everything alright?”
“I’m fine, I barely had any sleep last night, I’m OK, I promise”, Sunoo replied. Riki and Jake were not so convinced but still dropped the topic for now.
“Well, yeah, we need to get as much sleep as we can right now. We have a company dinner tomorrow night after the guys get here”, Jake replied.
Right, Sunghoon, Jay and Jungwon were probably on their way back already. Sunoo covered his face with his hands. Company dinners are normally fun but he can sense the atmosphere waiting for him tomorrow night. “Park Sunghoon, I’m going to kill you”.

Now listening: “want YOU” by Tabber
A ray of sunshine was coming through the blinds in Sunoo’s room, hitting him just under his eyes. He realized he hadn’t properly shut the blinds last night, which led to him waking up way before his alarm rang under his pillow. Still, he decided to get up and start his morning routine earlier, unrushed. Today was going to be a relatively calm day, since their only schedule was at night, and it was just dinner with their staff and some higher-ups; these never lasted that long to begin with. Sunoo was finishing up his skincare routine, so he decided to head outside to prepare breakfast. The house felt especially lonely this morning, but he tried not to dwell too much on it, and instead tried to wake up his remaining sleeping roommate, Riki. He knocked on the door a few times but got no response. He sighed and just resigned himself to having breakfast on his own.
It was overall an uneventful morning, but Sunoo’s thoughts kept trying to creep in. He tried to do a lot of things to keep himself busy and avoid his own mind, but none of them seemed to work, until he finally settled on playing video games for a while. Riki joined him at one point, but got bored pretty quickly, so he left. After a while, Sunoo felt the door open again, and a tall figure let himself in.
“I thought you were a sore loser, and that’s why you left”, Sunoo said, teasing the youngest. His eyes were still glued to the screen. He felt someone laughing behind him. Except it wasn’t Riki. Fuck. He paused the game, gathering all the sanity he had left in him, and turned around.
“Whoa, hyung, I didn’t know you were back”, Sunoo was talking normally, but his heartbeat was going at a thousand miles per hour, to the point he could feel it pumping out of his chest. He finally looked at his best friend and stopped breathing subconsciously. He diverted his attention back to his computer. I’m so fucked. He unpaused the game. I need to breathe.
“Did you miss me while I was gone?”, Sunghoon asked, teasingly. Unaware of how much Sunoo’s thoughts and mind had changed in the past 24 hours.
“I miss the peace I had when you were gone”, Sunoo replied, sighing dramatically. Honestly speaking, he was half joking. The day without Sunghoon had been peaceful for his mind, and his return had brought immediate chaos, but he was used to spending the mornings with someone else by his side. Sunghoon was usually awake before him, so the house felt livelier when he was there. Although he was never going to admit that.
Sunghoon walked towards him, checking the game Sunoo was playing on his computer. He hugged the chair his best friend was sitting on from behind and leaned forward.
Sunoo could not help getting distracted, stealing small glances at Sunghoon. How had he managed to dye his hair the exact same color he had six years ago? He even dyed his eyebrows. Did his moles always look this dark before? He’s too close, is he not? But he usually does this. Breathe. Focusing on the screen again, he tried to maintain a normal conversation with his old crush while playing.
“Since when are you so bad at Kart Rider? You ended up last!” Sunghoon laughed next to him. “I leave for a day, and your skills are gone. Should I teach you again?”
“Shut up”, Sunoo replied, baffled at the result on the screen. “You’re too close, it’s distracting”.
Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, “I always watch you play like this, it was never a problem before”.
“Back off a little!”, Sunoo said, frustrated. He wanted to say something else, but his mind short-circuited once Sunghoon got even closer, trying to annoy him on purpose. “Hyung!”, He turned around on the chair and pushed him, but Sunghoon was not moving, just smiling. Sunoo stood up to push him harder to no avail. It just seemed like they were getting closer and closer.
“Why are you not looking at me?”, the older asked, focusing on trying to make eye contact at least once. But the younger one was avoiding his eyes.
“You’re so annoying!”, Sunoo wiggled his way out of there and left. He sat on the sofa and started doomscrolling on social media. His breathing was uneven, his heartbeat as well, he felt his face heat up. No, he was not about to go through this on a random Wednesday. He got up and left for the other dorm.
Jake opened the door and was a bit confused at the situation. Sunoo normally visited them on their free days, so it wasn’t a surprise for him to show up so suddenly. But today, he had a weird expression on his face. A similar expression he would get whenever he had way too many drinks.
“Sunoo, are you drunk?”, Jake asked with concern in his voice. It was barely afternoon, so for his friend to be drinking at this time, something serious must have happened. But even so, he could not smell alcohol on him.
“Huh? At 1 PM?”, Sunoo replied, almost laughing. “Of course not, what do you mean?”
“I don’t know, you look flustered, slightly flushed”, Jake said.
Sunoo touched his face, hurriedly checking himself in the mirror he had attached to his phone case. He was still visibly blushing. He cursed Park Sunghoon once more in his mind, and just plopped himself on the sofa.
“What’s wrong? Is it a fever?”, Jake reached out to touch Sunoo’s face, but it felt normal.
“Jake, I have a problem”, Sunoo cried. If someone could understand him, it would be Jake. He was the only one who knew about his crush back then. “I think my feelings for Sunghoon are back”, Sunoo said almost in a whisper, worried the other members could hear him.
Jake smiled brightly. “So that’s why you were acting weird yesterday!” he said, tying the loose ends in his mind. “How did you notice?”, He then covered his mouth dramatically with his hands, realizing something. “The hair!”
Sunoo then covered his face with a cushion and screamed into it.
“I’m fucked”, he simply said.
“It’s ok! I’ll help you”
“How?”
“You have something now you didn’t have back then!”
Sunoo looked at his friend with a confused expression.
“A wingman”, Jake pointed to himself.
Sunoo covered his face again. “I’m even more fucked”.

Now listening: “Don’t” by Loco, Hwasa
Night has fallen, and the group had already arrived at the company dinner. They were especially invited to celebrate all the successful achievements they had made lately, so the atmosphere was very amicable. They started talking and reminiscing the first half of the year over a few drinks, which for some of them turned into one too many. As they were accustomed, they tried to keep composure and keep up with their bosses, until they were free to go.
“Should we keep it going at the dorms?”, Sunghoon suggested to the members once the group was heading downstairs, and they all agreed. It had been a while since they had shared some drinks all together. A rough half of the year had already passed, and they deserved some time for themselves. So, they all headed towards Jay, Jungwon and Jake’s room, before bringing some drinks from the other dorm and changing into more comfortable clothes. Their manager was leaving them on their own for the night as well, promising to pick them up tomorrow for their schedule.
The night seemed to have just started for the group, but some of them were already starting to get tipsy.
“Let’s play some drinking games”, Jake suggested. He looked at Sunoo, and winked at him.
Oh no. Jake, please don’t do anything stupid.
“Never have I ever”, he stated. “If you have done the action spoken, you need to drink”
“OK, I’ll go first”, said Riki, overly enthusiastic. “Never have I ever liked another idol”
All of them drank once.
“Whoa, spill, who was it?”, Riki asked.
“You only get one turn”, Jake intervened. “My turn now. Never have I ever had a wet dream about someone in this room”. Suddenly, things went from 0 to 100.
Sunoo was debating between answering truthfully or taking that secret to his grave. He was still thinking when he saw Sunghoon drink from his own glass. Only he did. Everyone was amused, surprised he would even admit that.
“My turn”, Sunghoon continued, ignoring everyone’s question mark expressions. “Never have I ever avoided someone’s gaze because I’m flustered”. He was looking at Sunoo only.
Sunoo looked at him while drinking, daring. The two were only paying attention to each other; the rest of the members suddenly turned into outsiders. They knew something was up, so they decided to stay out of it for now.
“Never have I ever flirted with my best friend just to annoy him”, said Sunoo, glaring at Sunghoon.
Sunghoon drank.
“Never have I ever sneaked glances at my best friend”
Sunoo drank.
“Never have I ever taken pictures of my best friend secretly”
Sunghoon drank.
“Never have I ever liked my best friend”, said Sunghoon.
Sunoo looked at him, a hurt expression forming on his face.
“I’m done playing”, Sunoo said, definitely annoyed now. He stood up quickly, shaking off the dizziness in his body, and he almost ran towards the door, leaving quickly for his own dorm. He knew Jake’s idea was stupid and still went along with it. Now Sunghoon had admitted he never liked him. Some tears were forming under his eyes. In reality, his feelings for Sunghoon were never completely gone. All these years, he had always liked him; he had just decided to bury those feelings to survive. Because deep down, he knew Sunghoon didn’t like him, he always knew. But his new appearance had awakened those feelings once again, and stronger than before. He could not ignore them anymore. He decided to take a shower before sleeping, but when he got out of the bathroom, Sunghoon was outside, sitting on the floor, waiting for him.
“I don’t wanna talk to you right now”, Sunoo said, ignoring him and walking towards his own room.
Sunghoon pulled him by the arm. “I didn’t mean anything by that”, he tried to explain.
“You’re drunk”, Sunoo said, letting himself be dragged by Sunghoon.
“I’m not”, Sunghoon admitted. “But if you are, we can talk tomorrow”.
“I’m not, just tipsy”, Sunoo replied.
Sunghoon took Sunoo’s hand, sending shivers towards his spine. “Let’s talk then”.
They sat down on Sunoo’s bed. Sunghoon was silently analysing his best friend’s gaze, his actions, his moves, but Sunoo was just looking at him, fully taking in the new look he had been avoiding the whole day. Sunoo raised a hand, touching Sunghoon’s hair. The older slightly melted into the touch.
“You know, this hair color makes you look so much younger, like when we were trainees”
“Yeah, that’s why I did it”, he simply stated.
Sunoo looked at him, confused.
“Do you like it?” Sunghoon got closer, allowing Sunoo to caress his hair more comfortably.
“Very”, Sunoo let it slip, but he didn’t really care. Maybe the alcohol had gotten to him, but he was not scared anymore. The dimmed lights were hiding the creeping blush on his cheeks, but they could not hide his intense gaze towards Sunghoon. He started tracing his best friend’s features with his finger. Sunghoon stopped him once Sunoo reached his lips.
“Sunoo”, Sunghoon said under his breath, getting closer, still holding Sunoo’s wrist in his hand, gently putting it down, letting it rest on his own lap.
Sunoo gained a sudden confidence boost once he saw Sunghoon looking at him with a different look in his eyes. He didn’t know what it was, but he hoped they were on the same track. He adjusted himself, straddling Sunghoon for more comfort, hugging him by the neck. He instinctively moved closer, almost touching the older’s lips, but without closing the gap. It was his turn to be a tease now. Sunghoon’s head was spiralling. He imagined this scenario before, countless times, but he never expected Sunoo to be messing with him like this. He hugged Sunoo’s waist, caressing it with his thumbs, pulling Sunoo closer to kiss him, but his friend avoided his lips, letting them brush against his neck instead. Sunghoon smiled but started leaving small pecks on Sunoo, slowly, taking him all in. He followed a trail to his jaw and stopped, pulling back to look at him. Sunoo’s expression was something new to him; he looked full of desire, lust, something he was experiencing for the first time, something he wanted to keep for his eyes only. Sunghoon moved one hand to Sunoo’s face, guiding him towards himself.
“Can I kiss you?”, Sunghoon waited for a reply, only to be met with a smile. Sunoo moved closer on his own, licking Sunghoon’s lips, before planting a chaste kiss on them and immediately pulling back. The action made Sunghoon lose his mind. He pulled Sunoo closer by his neck, catching his lips by surprise, and started kissing him more intensely, letting his tongue slip in a few times. The feeling was somehow new for both of them. They were moving in sync from the beginning, like they were made for kissing each other. Sunoo would bite Sunghoon’s bottom lip from time to time, making the older guy let out a few moans in between kisses, which made him want to bite him even harder. They were in their own world, the makeout session getting steamier by the second, but Sunoo suddenly got worried.
“Fuck, what if Riki comes in?”, he asked under his breath.
Sunghoon smiled and kept kissing him.
“I sent him a message to stay there for tonight when you were in the shower”, he simply said between kisses.
“So you were planning this since then?”, Sunoo pulled back, looking at Sunghoon with disbelief.
“And if I did?”, simply said Sunghoon, daring.
Sunoo pulled back a little, staring at Sunghoon and the position they were in. He smiled and adjusted himself again, trying to move closer, but it was physically impossible at this point. He softly pushed Sunghoon onto the bed and moved his face closer once again, leaving a tiny peck on Sunghoon’s lips, before moving down to his neck. He licked, kissed and bit a few different spots, leaving some visible marks Sunghoon would definitely have to cover up tomorrow. He moved his hands to Sunghoon’s hips, slipping his hands under the tight black t-shirt he was wearing, touching everywhere as much as he wanted, while Sunghoon did the same on Sunoo’s lower back, playing with the waistband of his underwear. Sunoo was about to pull Sunghoon’s t-shirt off, but Sunghoon stopped him for a moment.
“Is this alright?”, Sunoo asked, a slight concerned tone could be noticed in his voice.
“It’s fine, baby. Perfect. But let’s escalate this once we’re both fully sober”
Sunoo was still caught up in the fact that Sunghoon had just called him baby without realizing, but he understood his point. Even if they were only tipsy, it was a decision they had to take when they were in their right minds. Still, Sunoo wanted a bit more.
“What about this?”, he asked, faking an innocent voice, and started moving on top of him, pressing their bodies together. He still had one hand under Sunghoon’s chest, rubbing against his abs and moving lower.
He didn’t realize how insane this was driving Sunghoon. But the older guy nodded, moving alongside him. At first, it started slow, but they could still feel each other getting hard under their clothes. They continued making out while swaying their hips in a constant rhythm, humping against each other, with movements getting faster by the minute. Sunghoon turned them around, with him on top now. They were hugging each other tightly, allowing them to feel as much as possible. The room was filled with the sound of their clothes rubbing against each other, and the soft moans coming from both of them. The older guy moved one hand lower, caressing Sunoo from his waist down, letting it rest between both of them, allowing him to feel both his lover and himself at the same time. With Sunoo’s help, he carefully pulled their pants a bit lower. With only their underwear between them, they could feel the climax reaching them. Sunghoon kept moving, faster now, with his face buried on Sunoo’s neck, biting him to drown out his own moans. Sunoo just let him, completely gone to think about the consequences those marks would bring for both of them tomorrow. He hugged Sunghoon closer and moved slowly one last time, coming undone right there. Sunghoon followed a few seconds later.
They lay down together for a while before deciding to go wash up together. While in the bathroom, and slowly coming back to their senses, they saw the marks they had made on each other. Embarrassment took over Sunoo, and he could sense himself blushing again.
“You weren’t so shy back there”, Sunghoon said teasingly, hugging Sunoo by the waist.
“Shut up”, he pushed the taller guy slightly, avoiding his eyes for a second, gaining a smirk from Sunghoon.
“Come on, let’s go shower now, baby”, Sunoo was still not used to that pet name.
Both of them took a shower, threw their clothes in the washing machine and headed back to bed. They cuddled for a while on Sunoo’s bed. Sunghoon was caressing Sunoo’s back, while the younger guy played with his hair.
“You know”, Sunghoon started, “I dyed my hair just for you”.
Sunoo looked at him, focusing on his words.
“What do you mean?”
“You know, I’ve liked you for a long time, and I didn’t know how to make a move. Jake said this could work, and I’m glad I listened to him cause here we are”, he explained. Sunoo was looking at him with his eyes wide open.
“For a long time? How long?”, Sunoo was trying to process the information as fast as he could.
“Almost three years”
Sunoo looked at him in disbelief, rolling his eyes.
“Sunghoon, I’ve liked you for six years, don’t you dare say three years is a long time ever again”
Sunghoon could not believe his ears, but Sunoo was not giving him time to process the information.
“Also,” continued Sunoo, “I’m never telling Jake shit again, oh my God! He weaponized my attraction towards you!”, he said dramatically.
Sunghoon laughed, but made a mental note to thank his friend tomorrow.
“But it worked, didn’t it?”, he was getting cocky now.
“Fuck you”
“Oh, do you want to?”
“Idiot”, Sunoo said, but leaned closer anyways, kissing Sunghoon again. It was tender this time, slow and full of love. A mutual understanding between them.
“Should I tell Riki to move dorms permanently?”, Sunghoon asked once they pulled back.
“Doesn’t sound so bad, he can finally do something about his own feelings”, Sunoo said without paying much mind to the statement.
“For who?”
“Jesus, you’re so clueless. Jungwon, of course”
Sunghoon seemed like he was turning gears in his mind, finally tying up some loose ends. Sunoo smiled at him. He couldn’t believe he fell in love with a loser trapped in a hot body.
“Never mind them, we need to sleep! We have an early schedule tomorrow”, he reprimanded.
“Mhm, you’re right, baby. Let’s sleep”, Sunghoon said, hugging his lover closer to cuddle.
“Park Sunghoon, keep calling me ‘baby’, and we might not get to sleep anymore”, said Sunoo in more of a begging voice than he intended.
“Doesn’t sound so bad, baby”, Sunghoon whispered in Sunoo’s ear, and started moving his hands lower on Sunoo’s back, reaching inside his pyjama shirt.
“Come here”
