Summary:

What if what we're all thinking has actually been true this entire time?

Don't tell me you aren't thinking it. If you're a true GBB, you've lost some sleep over it. I don't even have to enumerate all the truths we know and all the deep lore we've been told (not to mention the first two non-AU stories I wrote with similar premises 😬).

This story is just an attempt at shutting our minds up (mostly mine) once and for all.

True, close to the truth, or completely false (they all feel equally possible at this point, c'mon), this is the achingly beautiful story of a Thai muay who fell hopelessly in love with her university senior, who shares the same birthday, and ended up as her real-life GL pairing partner, thrust against a nostalgic, bittersweet soundtrack by One Direction.

Yes, when I posted my second LenaMiu I knew I was going to make a third. Yes, this was around the time my algorithms kept throwing posts at me that go "What's the real timeline? Why is it always changing?" or videos with the creator saying "I truly believe that Miu has only ever had eyes for Lena" or "I don't know about you, but this story?? It's the kind people will talk about for years. The kind that feels too cinematic to be real." -- I have saved links for these, they are real posts that may have dropped by your own FYP's, but in any case, lemme know, I'll drop them in the comments if you guys wanna see.

This story was inspired heavily by:

  • The same thing that inspired my first two non-AUs: the ridiculous alignment of truths this pairing holds. Unless they have been shitting us this entire time, if so, then I quit life lol

  • The fact that Miu met Lena the year she turned 18

  • I heard Miu is a Directioner

  • They sang "What Makes You Beautiful" in Manila, this might cement the prior point

  • The way the song 18 by One Direction hurts you in that very specific way. The whole premise of "I wanna love like you made me feel when we were 18"—was the love you felt at 18 just so one-of-a-kind and completely unrepeatable from that certain person that you're bravely stating you just want to feel it again?

  • I've always found artist discography musicals very interesting and super creatively executed, like Mamma Mia! (the ABBA discography), or  We Will Rock You (Queen) and Jagged Little Pill (Alanis Morissette). I wanted to try and bring that kind of delivery to a fanfic.

 

TL;DR (Because I know most of you skipped this whole intro lol):

I just wanted to point out how Lena herself has mentioned more than once that their story reads like a novel. Every single time she said it, my brain automatically went, "oomf someone should totally write it."

Hello, Nong Lena. I guess I took that personally, so here I am doing it myself. 😬

Most of this book is probably fictional, apart from the parts that aren't. The ending of this book is obviously going to be completely fictional because the future hasn't come yet, but I think we are all collectively praying it’s what really happens in the end. If not? Already, as it stands, completely without my input... Lena and Miu's is a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL story.
