Chapter Text
KIM SEOKJIN
Jin grinned when he saw the name written beside his on the roommates list, pinned to the notice board.
Min Yoongi
He pulled out his phone and sent a quick text.
From Jin to Yoongi:
we're rooming.
1st floor, 103
;)
From Yoongi to Jin:
thank god
From Jin to Yoongi:
How long are reaching in?
*are u
Jin grinned all the way up to his new room, with his bag and suitcase. Hopefully this year was going to be relatively quieter than the previous two had been.
Finally, at least something was going according to plan.
He dumped his stuff on the bed closer to the door. Yoongi would want the bed by the window.
MIN YOONGI
Yoongi looked up from his laptop screen at the loud crashing sound of a body hitting the marbled flooring of the library, and the slight commotion that accompanied it.
A guy had obviously tripped, over what, Yoongi couldn't tell. Some of the other students had also looked up, two got out of their seats to help, a group of three giggled.
The librarian came forward to help and a guy standing close to where yoongi was sitting gave a small "Oh" and rushed towards the guy who had fallen.
Yoongi was about to turn back to his laptop screen when he saw the fallen guy's face. It was Namjoon. Jin's brother. A first year. A first year who had already been pushed up into Yoongi's second year class of Music Production, within a month of being in college.
He was good, he wouldn't have been able to take a 2nd year subject if he wasn't. He was probably likeable enough, but Yoongi disliked him. The reason was stupid, he knew, which is why he would never openly admit to disliking Namjoon. It probably helped that Jin disliked his own brother, too.
But then Jin disliked almost everyone. He had even disliked Yoongi when they had first met, but now they were roommates, so it was ok. It was good.
JUNG HOSEOK
Hoseok and Namjoon sat in the lecture hall with a group of guys, waiting for the professor to arrive. They finalised their plans for later in the day to celebrate Namjoon's birthday. Nothing special. Everyone was going to come to their dorm room and they'd order in. Maybe there would be a cake?
The conversation turned to Lee Sooyoung, as it somehow always did. More specifically to how pretty she was and what she was actually probably like up close. They joked about who she might end up dating while in college, and who should probably buck up and ask her out. Was she already dating someone from back home?
The conversation droned on, but Hoseok was losing interest. What now held his interest was the way Namjoon's face was a shade pinker than usual and how his eyes kept darting to where the object of their discussion was sitting, talking to some other students.
Hoseok smiled a little ruefully. Sooyoung was pretty, no doubt about it. People like Namjoon and him and 90% of the rest of the college population didn't stand a chance with her.
He grinned, looking away from Namjoon, towards the entrance of the hall as the professor walked in. Namjoon was going to get his heart broken pretty soon.
He nudged Namjoon's arm to get his attention to the professor standing in front of the hall, and whispered, "Stop staring at her like that, you're makin' it pretty obvious that you're into her."
Namjoon jolted and looked at Hoseok with a mortified expression on his face. "What? No!... No! No... I'm not."
"Yeah man... I know."
"I'm not!"
"Okay."
There was a frown on Namjoon's face now. Hoseok wished he hadn't teased.
