Chapter Text
I look at the detective across from me at the table. I’m in a room with no windows. A camera is pointed directly towards me.
“Shaun, right? Why and who did you go to the lodge with in the first place.” He asks.
“Um. I went up with eight of my friends. We went to the mountain because it's a tradition for our friend group.” I respond, fidgeting with my hands in my lap. I hear the click of the keyboard keys as he writes something down.
“What happened once things started going wrong?”
“Well. Um. Our friend, Q, came running to me and Dolphin and he had.. Blood everywhere on him. He asked us to go to the emergency tower to get help. So me and Dolphin tried to find our way there. But we somehow split apart.”
I pause, letting out a shaky breath. I’m trying to hold my tears back, thinking about Q.
“So, I continued walking, until I fell. I thought I just fell into a hole, but instead it was the mines. I didn’t even know they had mines on the mountain, but they were clearly abandoned."
I stop speaking. But he tells me to continue.
“I went deeper into the mines, hoping I would find Dolphin, but instead I found this thing. It wasn’t human. But it looked human-ish. It was really boney and tall. It was really fast and started chasing me down the mines.”
I hear the clack of his keys.
“I fell a couple of times over rocks and stuff. But I escaped and found Dolphin. We then ran to the cable car.. And yeah.”
“Why didn’t you leave the mountain earlier?" He asks. I give him a look. Is he stupid?
“Didn’t you talk with the others? We didn’t have the keys. I don’t even know how they found the keys in the first place.” I scoff.
He ignores my remark, and instead continues questioning me. “You’ve been through a lot of trauma. Are you sure you’re remembering things correctly? It’s normal for survivors to be confused about what they actually saw.”
“No! I know what I saw. And that monster was definitely not normal! I don’t care if you don’t believe me. When you guys explore the mines, you will see what I'm talking about” I burst, raising my voice slightly.
“Miss, please calm down.” He responds with a stern tone.
