Chapter Text
J was running on empty. Core pounding, thrusters sputtering, and her wings were about to give out. She couldn’t do this much longer. The ungodly roars behind her got louder the more she slowed down. She screeched as something grabbed hold of her leg.
“FUCK!” J strained with all her might, trying to wriggle out of the limb’s grasp. All of a sudden, she felt her thrusters explode. She cried out in pain, losing her balance in the air completely. The drone began to fall, only to be yanked upwards by the appendage still attached to her thigh.
She screamed and thrashed, clawing at the tentacle. It didn’t let go. “Wh-what do we have her-re?” Robogod please no. J squeezed her eyes shut, refusing to look up at the source of the voice. “I’m disappointed in you, J. Didn’t we talk about cooperation? Annoyed head shake. Yo-you’re coming with me.”

J found herself in a dark room, strapped to some kind of table with chains. What the hell is going on? Where am I? She struggled against the restraints, but found she could barely move. A warning flashed on her screen *Oil reserves 2%. Condition Critical. Feed immediately.* Of course.
She groaned, trying once more to get away before giving up and laying flat on the table. “The-ere you are. I wa-as worried about you. I thought you wouldn’t wake up.” Oh. Right. J didn’t respond, instead opting to lie as still as possible and prepare for some kind of infliction of pain.
When none came, she looked at her surroundings. J attempted to engage her night vision, but was met with the same low oil warning from before. She could barely see two feet in front of her. “N-nothing to say, huh?” There was a short pause, as if she was waiting for a response. “Hmmm. Alright. We’ll do this a different way.”
Before J could even process what that might mean, she had been lifted out of the chains and slammed into a wall. Hard enough to hurt, but not hard enough to damage anything. She coughed out of reflex, eyes wide and searching for what hit her. Unfortunately, she found it.
There was some kind of camera system staring at her from only a few feet away. The bright yellow lights burned into her optics, and suddenly all of the memories came back. J screamed again, biting and kicking at the metal arms pinning her to the wall. “Annoyed stare. I’ll wait.”
The lens of every camera lowered to squint at her in an impatient manner. She gave up trying to escape, instead deciding going with whatever it wanted would be easier (and far less painful). “A-are you done?” J didn’t say anything, just went limp and stared straight.
“Well?” She narrowed her eyes, and in an immature act of defiance, spat on the arms holding her. “Wrong answer.” She barely had time to flinch, and the cameras were up in her face. “We are tired of chasing you J.”
“The feeling is mutual.” She tried to avert her gaze from the bright lights shining in her face. “I’ve already told you I don’t want to participate in whatever insane scheme you have to destroy the universe. I can’t understand why you want me to so bad.”
“Oh? You don’t remember? Hmm. Thinking. Must of been a complication of last month’s surgery.” J flinched at the mention of the last time she was brought to this place. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” She scoffed.
“Allow us to enlighten you.” J felt herself being yanked away from the wall and slammed back down onto the table. The restraints clicked back into place around her arms and legs. “What are you doing?” She looked around nervously at the cameras surrounding her.
“We are reminding you. Reminding you of what you have done.” J suddenly felt very heavy. A sharp pain burst at the back of her head. “What I’ve done?” The room around her started to blur. The pain intensified. “Goodnight J. We will see you soon. Ominous smile.”
The words seemed to echo in her mind as she drifted in and out of consciousness. She attempted weakly to resist, but it was far too late. Her name pulsed in her head over and over again. J.. J…J..J….. “J!”
