What is this event?
Lokane week is a ship week in which we celebrate the pairing of Jane Foster and Loki, from both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Marvel comics. We are encouraging fans to create new works using the themes we’ve selected, and in turn we will be showcasing the works created for the event.

When is it happening?
The inaugural event took place October 14th to October 20th, 2018!
The 2019 event is taking place from July 8th to July 14th.

How do I participate?
Create something new that features Lokane using the themes or prompts we’ve selected. Post on the day of that theme (or any day after, up to a week after the end of the event). Art, fic, graphics, crafts, cosplay, playlists, vids – all creations are welcome and no sign up is required.

How do I submit?
Post on the day of the theme you’ve made something for, or any day thereafter, up to a week after the end of the event. If you post to tumblr, please tag #lokaneweek in the first five (5) tags you use. Include what theme you used and any applicable warnings in the body of the post. You can also tag @lokaneweek there as well.
If you don’t have a tumblr, go to the submit page on the lokaneweek tumblr blog and upload your work there. Please include a header that contains a name or psuedonym if you are submitting anonymously, the theme used, a brief summary if it is a link and any applicable warnings.
Here on AO3, you can post to the collection when uploading your work by filling out the 'Post to Collection/Challenge' option. Please note that the collection name does not have any spaces.

How do the themes/prompts work?
We feature a different theme/prompt each day of the week. The themes can be used as prompts themselves, or you may choose to work with one of the specific prompts that we suggest for a theme. You may also choose to create something loosely inspired by the theme e.g. using ‘Feelings & Emotions’ you can write a piece about Loki gradually falling in love with Jane.

Are there any rules to what I can submit?
While we love the library of works that have already been created for the ship, Lokane week is for new works only. Works must feature Jane and Loki as the primary pairing, i.e. don’t write a fic about another pairing with Jane and Loki only being mentioned once and don’t have something start as Lokane but have another pairing as endgame. We would also appreciate appropriate content and trigger warnings for works, such as whether something is not safe for work (NSFW) or has content like rape/dub-con.

Do I have to participate for all of the days?
No. If you’re busy and only have the time to do one thing, you are very welcome to join in for that one day. But we encourage everyone to join in as much as possible.

I can’t post on the day of a specific prompt/during the week this takes place, does this mean I can’t take part?
We accept late entries for this very reason! Maybe life interfered, maybe you just didn’t anticipate that your art would take so long to complete - all entries are welcome up to a week after the official end date. For 2019 this means anything posted that is tagged as #lokaneweek or submitted before the 22nd of July will be reblogged on tumblr and included in our summaries.
Works may be added to the AO3 collection at any time.

Can I collaborate with others?
Yes!
Though please keep in mind this is not an exchange, bang or prompt event, so we will not be matching authors or artists with each other, nor will we be assigning prompts or themes.

Who is running this event?
We have several mods. Samanthastar47, who is behind the @queencfthestarsdrfoster tumblr blog, Chloe (Grassangel), who runs the @starsandseidr tumblr blog, and Artemis_Day.
Plus this event wouldn’t be possible without the help and support of the entire Lokane Discord server, without which we wouldn’t have been able to organise.

• Works must be new and posted by their original creator(s).
• Works should fall under one of the themes featured. (It’s okay if it’s a bit of a stretch.)
• Works must be posted the day of, or in the days after, their applicable theme. No early bird works will be featured on the tumblr blog.
• Works must feature Jane and Loki as the primary pairing, i.e. don’t write a fic about another pairing with Jane and Loki only being mentioned once.
• No bait and switch works allowed, i.e. don’t have something start as Lokane but end with another pairing.
• Tag works that are not safe for work (NSFW) as such.
• Trigger warnings for works, such as rape/dub-con or character death, are required.
