Oof. This is beautiful. I love how you explore Rory’s interior life. How he rationalizes, how much he feels, how his patience has turned from a strength into this obstacle blocking him from being able to relate with his current reality at times. And River. Young River, just needing her dad. For all that Rory thinks Amy is the one with a gift for words, it’s his simple heartfelt reassurances that can mean the most. Oof. It’s been a decade since I’ve visited the world of Doctor Who, and I’m glad I did and came across this little story, truly doing justice to my favourite companion and his relationship with his daughter.
