   Well, this was sufficiently creepy.
   The lust for power is just that much more sinister coming from a sentient object than a 'higher being'.

      Yes, definitely creepy. And YES, that lust for power is especially troubling when it's a sentient object, right? (But I would also argue that the jewel sees itself as a 'higher being' too, especially with its manipulation of Naraku and others.) Thank you for reading!!
