Summary
The last of our peers were filing out, waving goodbye to All Might, when I heard the words which chilled me to my core:
“Hey, a few of us are going out for drinks! You should come, yo! Get to know your future coworkers!”
I was going to rip that stupid speaker off his neck and beat him with it.
“Oh? I wouldn’t want to impose!”
“Nonsense! The more the merrier! Right, Eraser?”
I stared at Hizashi, let the seconds drag out to make him uncomfortable, before glancing at All Might and shrugging. “It’s not a private function.”
“He’s just grumpy because he didn’t get his nap today.” Hizashi turned up his nose haughtily. “We’re just going to hit the locker room to ditch these duds for street clothes then it’s happy hour, baby!”

The intermission started, the microphones were cut, and Hizashi swiveled his chair to face me. “Okay. Spill. Who is it?” He tilted his head downward and glared at me over the top of his glasses. “Tell me it wasn’t that lousy, no good ex of yours, yo. Because if it is, I don’t know whose ass I’m kicking first - his or yours.”
“Huh?”
His scrutinizing gaze raked over my face one more time before he sat back. He cracked open a bottle of water and drank half of it. “That hickey you think you’ve hidden under your hair.” He pointed to the spot halfway to the back of my neck, behind my ear; too high for my capture weapon to cover. Whoops. Maybe I shouldn't have let Toshinori be quite so liberal with the post-patrol, pre-sex massage last night.

My lips screwed up in annoyance; at myself more than anything. Maybe I shouldn’t have texted Hizashi. This was stupid. This whole night was stupid. While my thumb hovered over the screen, and a moment of hesitation became a minute, then two, another text bubble popped up.
Well?? Are you taking a survey, or drunk texting me to come pick you up somewhere?
Then:
Wait. Shouldn’t you be out on a date right now?
With a huff, I tapped out my reply and knew as soon as I hit send, my phone would be ringing. God, I wish I was drunk.
I think I messed things up with Toshinori.

Summary
“Good morning.” The bony foot tangled up with mine rubbed a few times in greeting.
“Mm.”
“You’ve got another twenty-three minutes before we have to get up. Go back to sleep.”
That was quite possibly the sexiest sentence he’d ever said to me.
Unfortunately, my mind already decided to get started on the day and at most, I’d be resting with my eyes closed, which, as tempting as that extra bit of rest sounded, I wasn’t in the mood to sit quietly with my thoughts. Not if they were going to keep circling the drain of self-reflection.
