Description:

In another universe siblings Jake and Eve grew up on an Oklahoman cattle ranch and ended up in Dallas. Jake married his college sweetheart Mabel & had twins but his happiness is cut short by her tragic death. Now its 4 years later and Eve is married to public library director Flynn Carsen whose employees include Jenkins, Ezekiel Jones and children's librarian Cassandra Cillian. Jake's life is about to be turned upside in a good way by Cassandra, who is overcoming her own heartbreak.

Notes:

Both stories have been slightly rewritten since their original publication. In the original version this universe's Cassandra suffers from a tumor as well. But upon further research I realized I was not writing that properly so her health issue is chronic migraines. Very little has changed and the only significant rewrite happens in chapter 8 of the first story.
