When Gus imagined his early years of adulthood as a child, he has to admit some of his present reality matches what he envisioned. He'd be an interdimensional student, furthering his education somewhere in the Human Realm. He'd discover its secrets, unraveling the strange customs of humans he read about when he attended Hexsideー all while reestablishing contact with the giraffes. But he always imagined it would be his dad looking back at him from his crystal ball, smiling with proudly with tears in his face.
