He squeezes the armored hand before they chant the spell. The Salt’s Soul Jam glows in Elder Faerie’s peripheral vision, and he feels a warmth on his side like the crackles of an open campfire.
The sprout shifts, a pale purple light rushing through its buds as something peaks through the center of the branches. And then, all at once it blooms, a firework of wooden fractals and a crown of luminous lilac leaves, the tree humming and breathing in tandem with the intertwined magic of the two kings.
“Amazing,” The Salt says in that same tone of awe and wonder.
