Geralt goes to find Regis in his room, and asks him why he's not come down to eat with the rest of them. The answer, as it happens to be, is simple social anxiety.

Despite the domestic bliss, ever since the last full moon, and perhaps even before then, seeing Regis's true form and knowing what he is, Geralt has had a feeling... The building feeling inside him, that...
Delayed by human life, they are unable to act on their inner desires as soon as they please. They must hold out. Haste signals them to proceed slowly and with due prudence.
Finally, when the full moon rises in the sky...
The vampire alights. The witcher pursues.
