Rose’s fingers froze against her glass. She studied Shane’s face. Watching the furrow between his brows, the way his jaw tensed like he was bracing for impact. He genuinely didn’t know. The realization hit her then. “Shane,” she said slowly, “you seriously don’t see it?”

Ilya’s breath stutters faintly at the flush contact before steadying, adjusting his position so the pressure stays even, intentional, controlled. He lets the reaction exist without letting it take over. "And having something in my mouth." The admission bloomed between them, lazy and warm, the kind of truth that only surfaced when he was this pliant, this boneless beneath Ilya’s touch.

Shane’s lips parted around a breathless laugh, catching Ilya’s thumb between his teeth for a brief, teasing nip. "Both I guess. It was the kind of quiet that made it easy to let things slip through the cracks. And something did slip. A tiny, unconscious shift as Shane nuzzled his head a little deeper into Ilya’s hand. Ilya felt his heart swell with the way Shane softened under him, and a warm pride unfurled in his chest. He kept stroking through Shane’s hair, as if to say yes, this is yours, take it. And Shane let the last of the day drain out of him without a fight at all.
