Summary
Following his expulsion from the Akademiya, Zandik was thrown in the desert with nothing but the clothes on his back. The desert was merciless, stretching endlessly as its unbearable heat could only be matched by the dangers concealed beneath its golden sands. Survival became a battle where he couldn't even guarantee absolute victory.
That was until he came across an abandoned puppet buried deep near some ruins. The puppet was deceptively strong and fair-faced, which made him a useful companion in enduring the desert's cruelty. The puppet too lacked a heart which added fuel to the fire that was Zandik's burning interest in him.
Zandik promised the puppet a heart. In exchange, he asked for a price that the puppet had yet to realize was far too heavy to pay.
Or, Zandik encountered an unassuming puppet in the desert.

Summary
It was rare for Dottore to feel aroused. It was rarer still for such an impulse to linger long enough to warrant his attention. He had far more pressing matters to attend to than to satiate his fleeting lust. Despite that, there were still occasions when he did indulge the heat that bubbled inside him.
During those instances, Scaramouche was always there to satisfy his every need.
Or, Dottore longed to savor Scaramouche thoroughly in bed.

Summary
Bound to a restless hive-mind, Dottore's segments were never truly alone. Each of their thoughts bled endlessly into one another's, coalescing until they could no longer identify which voice was theirs. The endless chatter was inescapable, eroding their every boundary.
The hive-mind was less of a connection and more of a prison. One where fractured versions of the same mind constantly collided until their very individuality became nothing more than a forgotten memory.
Or, Segment Alpha could no longer remember what silence felt like.

Summary
Dottore waited for almost a century just to reunite with the puppet. The puppet however was faced with a reunion already ruined by death. His grief festered into resentment as he struggled to accept Dottore's segments, who he believed could never replace the man that he lost.
The segments called themselves Dottore. The puppet looked at them and saw only strangers. It was inevitable that the segments would become bitter because of the puppet's rejection.
For all that they ever wanted was for the puppet to return their affection.
Or, Segment Omega decided that if the puppet couldn't accept him, then he would simply revoke his ability to refuse him.
