Summary
⚠️ Massive spoilers for SIREN. This work is designed to help re-readers by providing them with exactly what changed so they don't have to hunt for it and explanations for why those changes were made. It also contains information about writer intentions, which will flatten the experience for a first-time reader. If you haven't read SIREN for the first time yet, please go read it first (link here).
SIREN underwent a significant rewrite after Chapter 6 publication (approximately 25% of the fic was reduxed). The plot didn't change, but the story did. This companion work is where I lay out what changed and which scenes are worth rereading, with the new text reproduced right here so you don't have to go hunting for it. At the bottom of each chapter, there's an expandable box with the why in case you're interested in how the sausage was made.
Comes with art!
The original fic is preserved here.
I'll keep this updated as SIREN grows. Come tell me what you think of the changes.

Summary
This is the fic as it first posted at the launch of each Chapter, before the redux, kept exactly as it was. The current, revised version is the main work: SIREN - please read that instead if you haven't read the fic at all!
If you want to see exactly what changed and why, there's a companion that walks through it: SIREN - What Changed in the Redux.
Robert swallows. "Look, I already told you that night—"
He sighs.
"—whatever you think you've done—"
He winces, hand reaching for his side. Courtney's eyes follow, widening slightly. He swallows, then looks back up, his voice coming out strong and steady.
"What I'm trying to say is—I forgive you."
Robert's mouth hangs open.
Breath hangs. She looks at Robert briefly, then down and away. Robert almost can't see her face.
His gaze finds the screen with her vitals. The number ticks up.
He looks back at her, eyes narrowing. Waiting.
Eventually, the words come.
Whispered.
Almost a whimper.
"I don't know if you get to choose that."
