“Are you…alright? You are usually very to your self but not to the point you’d miss a shift thinking you were off.”
“Yes, I am fine.” He muttered, looking out at the clearing beyond the lake, Riddle mentally corrected. “No, actually…That’s not entirely correct. Can I ask you something? And you promise to be honest?”
“Anything I suppose as long as you don’t talk me into a deal.”
“Am I…Offputting? So inhuman I come off as cold, distant…” He paused, “I mean, I’m not human, and that shouldn’t bother me but…”
“But?”

Jade doesn’t show up for his shift and so Azul asks Riddle to look for him. Riddle finds him, though, in a way he hadn’t expected. Instead of finding human Jade, Riddle finds him shifted back, singing a sirens song meant to pull on the deepest parts of the listener. Riddle, unaware or his desires, ends up having quite the talk with Jade about their pasts and potentially his future with Azul and Floyd. -

After the social at Noble Bell College, Riddle wants nothing more than to return to his dorm and resume his business as usual—his duties as a dorm leader, his studies for class, and his daily crosswords—but his plans change when he arrives at Octavinelle instead of Heartslabyul, with three troublesome mermen looming over him, conspiring to make him stay the whole day.
