"Today sucked," Mike whispered. "The sun was a jerk. The customers were jerks. I hate everything about this summer."
Will turned his head, his nose brushing against Mike’s temple. "Everything?"
He reached out, his hand trembling as he cupped Will’s jaw. His skin was warm, a little sweaty, but Mike didn't care. He felt like he was holding something made of glass that was already starting to crack.
"Except you," Mike said, and the words felt heavy, like stones he was dropping into a well. "You’re the only part that doesn’t feel like a total disaster."
