From the youthful and naive times as high schoolers till their emotional and devastating reunion years later as adults.
You had to rebuild yourself from scratch and find meaning in a life he was no longer part of. The grief you went through after a terrible accident that changed your life, and the complexities of living and still working as a sorcerer to meet your family's expectations.
And even with all of that, when you see him again, the unresolved feelings from both resurface and become a problem to solve; you either work this out or finally part ways and become strangers for good.
