    Alucard was supposed to rest forever. He had no purpose as far as he knew after he helped killing his own father so his original plan was to immediately submerge his own powers and subject himself into an eternal slumber. His companions did not let him go so easyily at the time though, each of them- they tried helping Alucard by either pestering him, making him go on a journey with them or just never leaving him alone in general because they knew how wrecked he was, to kill your own flesh and blood- it was never easy. Their company delayed the inevitable but in the end, after they all passed, it still happened. So when Alucard suddenly woke up after so long, without knowing as to why his body refused to obey his demands, he reluctantly decides to investigate, to at least see what state that the world is currently in... (Because surely his forced re-awakening must have a meaning, right?)
