Summary
“Should have left this on the nightstand for me.”
Confused, Dana lifts her head from the growing pile of mismatched socks she’d been sorting to look toward Cassie. What she sees immediately has her heart leaping up into her throat. She’s furious. The small wad of neatly folded bills is held out in the space between them like something vile as she marches forward. Her knees are shaking, but her jaw is set and the blue of her gaze feels like liquid nitrogen as it locks onto Dana.
“That’s where they usually leave it. Less likely to lose it that way.”
Oh.
Shit.

Summary
If Cassie traces it back like a line on a piece of paper, she knows it’s because of what happened the day of Pittfest, but if she’s feeling more honest, she’ll say the line started long before that. But being honest with herself requires admitting something happened—even though nothing happened, technically—and that would make it all way more real. So she continues not naming this thing that now sits between her and Dana Evans, letting it snowball in size until the day it knocks one of them over.
or, Cassie and Dana almost kiss after Pittfest—and now Cassie must deal with the fallout.

Summary
Dana is curled up in the corner of the couch, with Cassie’s feet stealing some warmth from her while she’s utterly engrossed in her book. The book is easily held in one hand, the other she’s using to lean on occasionally moving to push her glasses back up her nose.
God. The glasses.
Or: Cassie and Dana enjoy a morning together.

Summary
Cassie spies Dana at the hub, glasses perched on her nose, and she can’t help the growing heat she feels at the sight. There’s something about Dana in her glasses, a look of concentration on her face as she studies something on the screen in front of her, that drives her crazy. She can’t resist the way she feels pulled towards the hub, determined to make some kind of quip about the sexy glasses situation.
Or: Dana shows Cassie that she can take the lead, too.
