Summary
This wasn’t supposed to happen. The Narrator made the parable, with all its doors, rooms, and meaningless wandering as his life work. He took pride in it. He expected there to be some complications, but not this. Not………..love. But nevertheless, whenever he looked at Stanley, with his unkept dark hair, slight build, average height, stubble due to the fact he couldn’t really shave, and his soft smile he showed when he was in an especially good mood with the Narrator, all he saw was a man. A man he wanted to see for the rest of his life, even if that meant eternity. But he held himself back. Kept with his snarky banter, hoping one day Stanley would feel it too. The pull he felt. The way he felt drawn to be near the other man, even if it’s the only thing he’d ever be able to do.
OR
The Narrator is head over heels and Stanley is oblivious to the fact he is too.
