Summary
Harry's hopes to settle down after the war are dashed, once again, by the Ministry of Magic. He's given a compromise: more time to spend with his family, if he agrees to assume the role of bodyguard. For none other than Draco Malfoy. As if things couldn't get any worse. Only, Harry starts to realise that he's developed prejudices of his own against Draco, and as they begin to grow closer, they each start question their old rivalry.
With a very real threat to Draco's life thrown into the mix, Harry comes to realise just how much he's come to care for the troubled Malfoy heir.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I have made the decision to orphan this work, not because I dislike what I’ve written here, I’m actually very proud of this work and it saddens me to have to do this, but because Harry Potter is no longer a safe space for me. If you still find joy from the world of Harry Potter, and my writing, I appreciate that, and would never take that away (which is why I haven’t deleted this fic), but I myself no longer feel connected to the franchise. Thank you everyone who supported me during, and after the fic writing process :)

What do you get when you mix a bucketful of emotional tension with parboiled angst, a good litre of the Dursleys being absolute arses and several cups of Voldemort causing everyone severe trauma (not to mention a heap load of trouble, too)?
Huh, I suppose that's the perfect recipe for Severitus soup.
OR
Severus and Harry are journeying through a place I cannot yet name. Harry has secrets - loads and loads of Dursley ones. Severus has temporary guardianship of him during this little excursion - plus Legilimency and Slytherin-ness and a knack for uncovering secrets - and a good few the man has himself. If you're looking for angst, have a seat and enjoy the show ;)
This is also a mystery fic so keep an eye out for my (oftentimes, quite vague) clues! Everything has meaning here, so be sure not to overlook even the littlest of details.

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.
