Summary
The first thing that Bobby felt as he woke up was the sun. Warm, soothing rays, cascading over his cheeks and illuminating the backs of his eyelids. He felt the warmth in his heart, and inhaled the crisp breeze that drifted by. With a deep breath, Bobby opened his eyes, blinking rapidly against the bright sunlight that surrounded him. He was reclined against the trunk of a massive willow tree, with cool dirt and grass slipping between his fingers, and the rustle of leaves whispering by his ears.
As he took in his surroundings, confusion began to interrupt his sanctuary – the last things he could remember: the lab, Chim, the virus, Buck and Athena, a knelt prayer, and then-“Daddy!!”

Summary
Buck doesn’t take his hands off Eddie’s shoulders as he glances over to Athena and Nash, who are watching the display calibrate. “How’d we do?”
“See for yourself,” Athena says.
Bad, Eddie thinks.
But he can’t read her – doesn’t know what it’s going to say. For all he knows, he’s going to look up and the words Eddie Diaz Should Be Dead will be flashing across the screen. He half-expects it.
He wants to brace Buck for it, for the disappointment – wants to explain that whatever has screwed his compatibility scores till now, this one is all on Eddie.
“Oh, shit…” Buck whispers.
Eddie lifts his head, finally lets himself look, and then takes an inhale so sharp he tastes blood.

Mrs. Young smiled. “As teachers, we don't get to sit down and talk one on one with each child as much as they deserve. This assignment always grants me a beautiful insight to my students. Their proudest accomplishments, their darkest moments, or even some facts I've never known.”
She lifted a hand to her heart. “So with that, I would like all of you hear from one of the most beautiful essays I've had the pleasure of reading, from one of the-” she sighed. “-funniest kids I've met. Please welcome Christopher Diaz.”
...Christopher smiled into the microphone. "My name is Christopher Diaz. Here's my essay."
"Dear abandoning dead Mom."
The silence from the audience was deafening.
"Oh god." Eddie whispered beside him.
