Summary
Peter is a comic books fan, which is probably pretty weird considering he's an actual superhero, but whatever. He's made peace with it.
Now an adult with a full-time job to juggle on top of his Spider-Man duties, he doesn't have time to read most releases for his favorite characters, save for one: Deadpool. He keeps up religiously with Deadpool. Even has a poster of him on his wall, and even occasionally talks to that poster just to keep the crippling loneliness of his double-life at bay.
Deadpool's newest and most mysterious series, Deadpool: Arrival, is... strange. The plot is paper thin and pointless, none of Deadpool's usual crowd shows up, and his fourth wall breaks are... weird. Like, weird weird. Uncanny, some might say.
Or, really, one might say. Because the longer Peter reads, the more he begins to realize that all those fourth wall breaks, all those weird asides, seem to be tailored to one person, and one person alone: himself.

Peter was already shaking his head before Wade stopped speaking. "Dickhead and asshole, up there," he said, motioning with his taco-filled hand up at Wade's head. "They never know when to leave you the hell alone."

There’s a man sitting in the corner of the room, half cast in shadow. Peter’s vision was still mottled, but he can make out gray pants similar to his own. His roomie was wearing a white shirt, the sleeves twisted strangely, decorated with buttons and straps. It took several more blinks to realize that’s because it was a straitjacket.
That is never a good sign.
Peter jumped to his feet, almost threw up, and plastered himself to the wall, slowly easing down into a crouch. But the man only cocked his head to the side, hairless eyebrows quirking. When Peter inhaled, the stench of pain made his nose sting and his eyes water, overwhelming in its magnitude. The man’s eyes are hard and angry when they meet Peters’.
“And who are you supposed to be? They actually giving me roommates again? Nice try, Francie!” this the man yelled at the door, “but I’m not buying it! Give im’ to someone else.”

One day, Lan Wangji receives a letter from the past, requesting him to save Wei Wuxian. He's not known a Wei Wuxian for 18 years of his life, but the letter writes:
"5 years later, Wei Wuxian is no longer with us.
Every day, I blame myself for what happened over the few years.
I don’t know when we will get this chance again.
So please, save Wei Wuxian.
Don’t let him wallow in his hurt all by himself."
It’s only when the tears fall onto the page that Lan Wangji registers that he is crying. How can he feel so grieved for someone he doesn’t even know?or: Highschool student Lan Wangji receives a letter from himself from a different lifetime. Wei Wuxian took his own life then. Lan Wangji receives a plea from himself to make sure Wei Wuxian doesn't walk the same path again.

Lan Wangji’s next breath is so sharp that it feels like needles in his lungs. He stills entirely as his uncle’s voice rings in his head, the offhand comment taking root and festering at once. He’s distantly aware that he is still talking, but nothing he’s saying registers. His attention lies solely on his brother, who has met his eyes across the table with the same startled realization in his gaze.
Wei Wuxian does come back to Gusu. He comes back as Lan Wangji's brother-in-law.

“I am not cool water, Lan Xichen.”
“No, you are not. You have been boiling for quite a while now,” his brother says, and what is Lan Zhan supposed to say to that? He has never been very skilled at following along his brother’s convoluted words and connotational analogies that never make any sense. Except when Wei Ying returns with some sweet dough on a stick, holding it to his mouth and grinning at him brightly, easily, unworriedly, he does feel like he’s boiling. From the inside, right beneath his sternum, like a wildfire pressing against his ribcage.
or: Lan Zhan does not have much of an opinion of Wei Wuxian when he is informed of the betrothal proposal. That changes rapidly. It goes a little like this:

Wei Wuxian couldn’t help his mouth, smirking, he whispers behind Lan Xichen, “How about it, Zewu-Jun? Is Young Master Gen up to your liking?”
