Sam might have a crush on the regular who puts too much maple syrup on his pancakes at Wilson Family Diner.
EXCERPT:
“The who?” said Sam, putting the Wilson Family Diner apron on, raising an eyebrow, Sarah pointing him out in the corner, the celebratory beat of “Dancing in the Streets” covering their little talk, watching as the man kept pouring maple syrup on those pancakes.
Obsidian hair, curling at the end. Circular reading glasses. A button-down showing just a peak that accentuated the man’s handsome features. The man sat at the same place every night. And Sam probably should know more about him by now, especially since he knew the rest of the regulars well, but he just didn’t. He wanted to, but he seemed to always think, “Maybe next time,” snatching glances at the man whenever he could.
“Sweet Tooth. Comes in every night. Orders maple syrup with a side of pancakes,” said Sarah.
