Bookmarker's Notes
The first and second works in this series, literally, showed me what love could be. I interpreted it where if these two were in our world, there would be none of this violence. The important dynamic is that they are on equal footing, physically and mentally and even financially. And, due to their character natures, violence is commonplace and thus makes sense to be included between them, in some capacity, at some point.
I have never been moved to such deep and honest positive emotions by any work before this one. I don't cry from stories, but it's far easier for a work to make me cry than to make my heart feel full with joy, but that's exactly what this author accomplished. It's beautiful, truly beautiful. It made me understand how great romantic love could feel, could be. It made me less wary of intimacy in my real life, and more believing in romance itself. It helped me believe that romantic love, just maybe, wasn't permanently out of reach by nature of the state of this world for me. And that's true.
This work is very important to me, and it's the most vibrant work I have ever read. It changed part of my life at this point, and there's no going back anymore. For better. -

Summary
Pete unlocked his front door with the boy pressed up against it, thighs slipping down Pete's sides. The boy snuffled in his sleep and slapped weakly at Pete's shoulder, face scrunching up. Bad dream. Pete soothed a hand over his damp forehead, brushing his bangs away, and let himself finally look at what might have been his best steal ever.
