Summary
Simon just kept trying to breathe, his chest heaving up and down. His bleeding arm, still clenched and curled into himself, stung against sweat.
The blood on the ground divided the space between them, one hesitant and one wholly unwilling to cross it. Dr. Grace just kept looking at Simon with those wide, blue eyes.
“Hey…seriously, what is your name?”

Summary
One second he was swallowing down warm - disgustingly warm - blood, desperately trying not to let it go down the wrong pipe and fill his lungs even more. The next, he opens his eyes, a tube miraculously doing the breathing for him, no pain, clean light up above, and a holy angel looking down on him.
The Convict knows it was an Angel, even though it looked like a person, because no one’s eyes could ever be that kind.

Summary
Simon focused on the view. So many stars. They were beautiful, and he was happy they'd be the last thing he'd see.
"I'm ready." Simon whispered into the still air. The combing stopped, and Simon mourned the loss immediately.
"You can kill me now."
AKA: What if Simon misinterpreted why Grace was showing him the Greenhouse? Our bodies become the soil, after all.
