“Well, you could greet your boyfriend when he walks into a room,” Alex sniffed.
“The first words you’ve said to me all day,” said Ethan, standing up, still cupping the nape of Alex’s neck, “were ‘you need to shave.’ I wrote you a sweet note and put it in your lunchbox, and all you have to tell me is that my facial hair is bothering you?”
Alternatively; Xander tells Ethan he can do anything to him, and does not live to regret it. Author has finally given in to the voice inside their head that keeps repeating "LovingClue" over and over and over.

Ethan had always known he would have a life destined for service. To the gods, to the temple, to whatever master or lord should hire him into their house. He had expected a detached kindness; he was good enough at his work that he could choose who would take him on, and he would never have let himself be taken on by someone who would abuse him.
He had never expected to be taken on by someone that he would grow to love.

Either you sleep now, and you’re not allowed to get out of this bed for twelve hours except for the bathroom, or, Christian and I can tire you out and you don’t need to worry about sitting in bed all bored out of your mind into the afternoon.”
Ethan swallowed. “Or, secret third option, you can’t make me do anything without consent.”
Alex shrugged. “There is that, too. And we’d respect it. You saying you don’t want to be pampered?”
“Tell me, Ethan,” said Chris, coming beside Alex. Alex moved out of the way slightly, so that they were both over Ethan. “Tell me, are you really planning to go back to your room and try to finish that stupid ass paperwork on no coffee and a hard dick?”
He had a point.
Alternatively: Ethan gets (consensually) sexually bullied into going to sleep. Christian and Author have no regrets. Xander's only regret is that he didn't do this sooner.

Of course, with Obi-Wan's luck, everything takes a turn for the worse. Anakin's dreams about his mother prove prophetic. Sith burn half of Mos Espa and their ship with it; chase them into the desert, into increasingly dire straits.
He starts dreaming of his soulmate again, too, as though he needs the extra complication.
