“I’ll be at the hospital in twenty-five minutes, if traffic cooperates,” Zayne said, “I’ll let Yvonne know to expect you.” You cringed, the implication of his emphasis not lost on you, even with how the pain clouded your mind. A small tug of your arm confirmed that the odd tether inexplicably tying you to Sylus was still present, though it at least allowed enough distance for him to drive the car without you also having your hand on the wheel.
“Will it be okay for me to have my friend with me?”
“Your friend?” Zayne’s voice was dubious, and you could imagine the subtle downward tilt of his eyebrows as he continued, “He can stay in the waiting area, if he must.” Sylus glanced at you and tugged his own arm, pulling at the band of energy.
“I’d be happy to wait for you, kitten, but...” he trailed off, dropping his connected hand back to your thigh.

Summary
You have been away for almost a month on a mission and start expierencing strange symptoms towards the end of your trip, even talking with Sylus on the phone didn't help the intense uncomfortable yearning you were feeling. On top of that you start to worry that there might be something wrong with Sylus, having a nagging anxiety and urge to return home right away.
When you arrive he's no where to be found, you search the base and end up finding him drunk and feverish with a worrying glow in his right eye. You want to give in and ask him what the aether core wants but you remember...
You had made a promise to him that you would not feed yourself to him if his aether core becomes too volitile, not that you really wanted to make this promise but he was so worried about hurting you. Nothing happened after that so you had forgotten about it, never talked about it again.
But now you are married to him, living together and wishing that you had renegotiated this problem because you want nothing more than to let him devour you. You know he's in no state to make decisions about this so you wait it out.. and try to resist the urge to give in, you wanted him just as badly...
