Summary
He hadn’t prayed for anything in a very long time.
That was, until Viktor showed up.
As a recovering addict forced into rehab sessions at his old church, Jayce never expected to meet someone like Viktor. When they're forced into studying scripture together, they quickly learn just how similar they are, swapping scathing comments about God and the feeling of being left behind in a world that demands they heal, despite no longer wanting to. Mutual obsession quickly blooms between them as they share in each other's misery and their lack of hope for the future. Brightness exists between them for moments, breathing life back into them between verses of scripture and talks of saints.
But nothing good can last for long, and when tragedy, trauma, and addiction raise their ugly heads, they aren't sure if it'll be worth fighting their way out anymore.

"Is that thing on?"
"Yup, we're rolling."
A young man sits on a bed, looking awkward. "Okay, good. Um, wait, what am I supposed to say again?"
"Just say your name and tell me a little bit about yourself."
"Oh, okay. Well then." He runs a hand over his knee. "My name is Viktor, I'm 22 years old, I'm currently an engineering student at a university here in Piltover, and today is the day that I've decided I'm going to die."
When Viktor is denied access to an assisted suicide program, he decides to take matters into his own hands. He hires Jayce to film his last days alive to leave a record behind for others to understand him and his decision. The two spend several weeks together as Viktor explains his thoughts and shares the good memories he has of his life, as well as his disappointments and emotions regarding life and death.

Summary
What would have happened if Jayce and Viktor were dating long before the Progress Day speech? Viktor's heart broke when he was robbed of the moment to share his life-changing inventions by his fianceé, Jayce Talis. It's the second time in the last year that Jayce ignores his agency and makes a reckless and unforgivable decision behind his back. The first one was in their romantic relationship of five years, the second one in their business partnership.
Viktor knows he will survive; he knows that everything good has to come to an end. What he didn't expect was the homesickness he felt towards Jayce, towards Zaun.
Or, Viktor misses his fianceé after breaking up with him. That opens the door for more than one kind of homesickness. With a broken heart, he realizes he misses Zaun horribly, but he just can't go back.
