Summary
The apprenticeship was emailed to her by one of her favorite professors right as decided it was time to wrap things up on Sheridan Road. She submitted the notice of dissolution for her LLC and her landlord had told her she had a month to find somewhere else to live when the email with the information about Chef Berzatto’s apprenticeship was sent to her. Working with Berzatto was one of her only options and a long shot, but her current state of affairs left her at a loss for what to do next. This apprenticeship sounded like her saving grace and last hope before she gave up on the culinary industry as a whole. A place that she never felt truly welcomed in or like she belonged.

Summary
“How’s the new CDC working out?”, Sydney then asks. It’s an out of the blue question and attempt at conversation that Carmy wasn’t expecting. He won’t complain, though.
He misses this most. Their talks. The long nights that they stayed awake, working on their chaos menu together. Their talks at the restaurant – their meetings, their locker chats when the day was done.
He misses hearing her voice in the kitchen. Misses hearing her call out orders. Misses hearing her say ‘behind’ or ‘corner’ or ‘hands’.
Now he misses her hands.
“Carmy? Did you hear me?”
“Hm? Yeah”, he says quickly, glancing over at her. “Yeah, I… um… I was just thinking”.
