Summary
When Shane Hollander hears Ilya Rozanov call him "Shane" after years of refusing to call him anything but that, his world shifts. He runs from Ilya and himself. He meets Rose at a party, and they start to date. In this universe, they don't break up before the All-Stars Game, so she comes along and meets Ilya, who is tangled in a family mess, haunted by the words of his father and brother every day. Shane realises that he is stuck in the 2014 night in Vegas, holding against Ilya that they didn't kiss, while Ilya is convinced Shane's life doesn't deserve the mess that follows his. So, the two continue to fight with each other and themselves, while an invisible thread keeps pulling them towards each other. There is angst, and a lot of yearning so be prepared, Loons!

Shane hadn’t shown up to the party.
In his drunken state, the thought weighed heavily on him. He hadn’t seen Shane since practice yesterday, but more importantly, he hadn’t seen Shane in months. They ignored each other in the locker room, were tense on the ice, and only interacted when Coach Wiebe made them. They had gotten into an awkward, mechanical rhythm since September, when they had to start this game of pretend.
Ilya shut his eyes for a moment, leaning against the wall in the den to steady himself. Obviously, he wouldn’t show up, Ilya thought, tilting his head back. Why would he?
There was no answer that he could give that made sense. Shane hadn’t spoken to Ilya unless necessary since June, and even before that, Shane had never wanted to be a partygoer.

Summary
Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, the two biggest rivals in the NHL, became an unexpected, inseparable duo during the All-Star Weekend. From morning hotel breakfasts to midnight drinks at the bar, they were just... always. together. Attached by the hip.
So imagine Shane’s crashout when, as soon as the whistle blew at the All-Star Game, his friend-not-friend, Ilya, left the ice, left Tampa, without even saying goodbye. They didn’t even exchange numbers.
Out of spite, Shane goes on a rampage on Ilya’s home ice. He gets wasted for the first time in his life in Boston. Then he passes out drunk in Ilya’s arms.
To his luck or lack of it, he wakes up with a throbbing headache in Ilya’s bedroom and finds him in the kitchen preparing a hangover soup.
