Summary
This is a repost of a start-to-finish liveblog of my blind playthroughs of Baldur's Gate 1, Siege of Dragonspear, Baldur's Gate 2, and Throne of Bhaal. It is a mix of fanfiction and meta commentary, complete with images, and tells the story of Caden of Candlekeep, my thief(ish) Gorion's Ward.
Caden of Candlekeep finds himself thrown into a life of adventuring when his foster father is murdered and a series of terrible forces begin to pursue him, desiring to use the power within his blood for their own ends. A kind and trusting young man, he initially struggles with life on the road but grows to be a capable leader among his close-knit group of friends.

Summary
Years after the defeat of Irenicus and Melissan, Jaheira and Rasaad are both still haunted by the things they have lost, and neither of them is much good at opening up despite how deeply they've come to care for each other. When Rasaad decides he must travel to Calimshan to face up to his brothers in Sun Soul, she and their friends insist on accompanying him, and the two must begin to come to terms with their unacknowledged feelings while uncovering a deep darkness that has infected the place Rasaad once called home.

Summary
"Come with me," she says abruptly.
Karlach blinks, her confusion briefly clearing the tears away. "Lae... I can't," she says haltingly. "We just--"
"No, I-- No," Lae'zel says. Her bearing is suddenly stiff, with her gaze flicked over Karlach's left shoulder in the military air that she retreats into when speaking of something difficult. "Not forever. I know we cannot have forever. But Wyll must search the city. It will be hours. You know this. Come with me. Let me--" And now her voice really does crack, just the once, before her iron control reasserts itself. "Let me show you my home, Karlach."
----
A final sight of beauty together before Karlach and Lae'zel separate.

Summary
"No matter how desperate I get," Shadowheart says through gritted teeth, "I'm not that desperate."
But her body is betraying her. It's responding to Lae'zel's suggestion, rising like a well-stoked fire, and Lae'zel lowers herself to the ground near Shadowheart's feet. Shadowheart's legs shift to accommodate her in an instinct so bone-deep that she can't stop it before Lae'zel is filling the space.
"Give in to your desires, istik. Submit to me. In my experience," Lae'zel says, crawling slowly up Shadowheart's willing body, "the hatred will only make it sweeter."
And then Shadowheart is being kissed so thoroughly that she forgets her own name.
OR
Shadowheart doesn't know much about her past, or her future, or even who she is beyond what Shar asks of her. But she knows one thing. She hates Lae'zel. She hates her so much that the gith hardly leaves her mind, and there's nothing that could possibly change that.
A tale of misplaced hatred, building trust, and finding new purpose.
