Recently, to the left of Jayce’s eye line in red permanent marker, someone has written “MEN’S ROOM - MIDDLE STALL. FRIDAYS 10 - 2” in all caps, with a fat heart to punctuate the invitation. Underneath, in the same marker, they’ve drawn a circle.
It takes him a few beats to understand what the red marker is advertising. And when it clicks, even though Jayce certainly isn’t the kind of guy to visit a glory hole, he checks his wristwatch anyway.

The air of the Olympic Village inspires acts of irresponsible whim-following that regularly disciplined athletes never allowed themselves to carry out any other time or place. Fantasies come true. Real life doesn't exist. The future is no matter. Yuzuru Hanyu has been waiting for years for the day that Javier would give in and choose him, because he has always known that one day they would get their happy ending.
When his patience seems to be rewarded, Yuzuru discovers that not everything is exactly how he dreamed it would be. Sometimes the fantasy is just that- a fantasy that will matter no more after the Olympics end than it did before they started.
